It could be just me but I think this definitely improves the look of Croxton Yard

Overshoe ! Sorry for the long wait. (that buzz, such a card). This working Michael is going VERY well. The fonts are everything. Check out the lettering and the ERIE logo. That is dead on stuff. There is more if this to work on. Currently I am in Harlem adding MANY more siding markers to position 40ft box cars. This should make a few switching scenarios interesting. The 40s look GREAT on the 149th St Station.

I thought I didn't have enough s cars, but I haveat least 5 more 40s, I have 2 - 50 footers, then I have gondola, Covered and Uncovered Hoppers. There could be 3 dozen different cars in the pack. If this wasn't my stuff I would still love them. Now we can have EL/ER GPs, cars AND Cabooses. !*cheers*!

I hope you liked the "special' look up the history and it TIES RIGHT IN TO THE ROUTE, I see 2 of them in your picture.
This is just so great! Love your images and glad your enjoying 1970!

2. May I see what happens with your 44tonner alpha on a box car? Ooo or the caboose?
If that is bad form do say so. I was looking closely and it has this granular luminance that's interesting and clever!

A1. If it's outside the (NYD) listing, then sorry, I did not see it. I used everything under (NYD) when I staged the screenshot . I thought it might be the "New Jersey Only" caboose (?). I'll have another look when I get back to my gaming rig.
A2. No problem using the alpha from the 44 Tonner.

Thanks again to both of you for making this content available; combined with the Bergen, it makes for one of the best Railworks experiences that can be found anywhere. As Forrest Gump might say, "peas and carrots" !!*ok*!!

Hey Rudi,
Here is the Caboose Link:http://golden-age-rails.com/packsrw/bergcab1.html
These, I suspect will get updated again in both form and paint - so stay tuned.
(NYD) heh - They end up at the top - so they are easy to find!

Currently I'm still working on the NJNY Branch Area - its getting a baby foliage update.
I will play with your alpha later today as I am doing some repaints.

Lastly, here is the "special" and like so much else on the Bergen - I put it in as a little history lesson. This was a Beeech to do and l love how it came out. So without further adieu - the special - the Lehigh and New England RR - the bridge line of bridge lines!

I am reposting this here for your edification - there is some NEW STUFF contained that I haven't mentioned before. Your feed is appreciated as always. I just posted here https://forums.dovetailgames.com/thread ... ect.15783/ and here https://steamcommunity.com/app/24010/di ... 123942125/

I feel like I am at a cross roads ( a good one!) with this work. I seriously don't think I could have made it this long without you guys on Railworks America. I am NOT blowing smoke, this is real.

Here is my post:
Hello everyone, I am Minerman146 and if your not aware, the author of the New York Division Bergen Line Route in Workshop. Two weeks ago, on April 1 we completed 5 years of work on this 71 mile long route. The route is roughly based, in the modern era, in the year 2001. The route extends from Hoboken, NJ to the Eastern edge of Middletown, NY. In addition, there are 6 branch extension to Walden & Maybrook, NY, Tallman NY, Wood-Ridge, NJ, Hawthorne, NJ and the "Dundee Spur" in Passaic, NJ. There truly is something for everyone here. You have New Jersey Transit Commuter Operations, Norfolk Southern Service and two Shortlines: New York & Greenwood Lake and the Middletown & New Jersey RR.

You can find the routes here on workshop:

With the background out of the way, I wanted to talk a little about my true passion. This is the Erie Lackawanna Railroad. Originally, my route was conceived as a test platform to learn route building. But, more so, I developing my working knowledge of the EL in the hope that Dovetail would notice and consider developing an Erie Lackawanna Route. They most certainly noticed this work and were very supportive, particularly Matt Peddlesden. At the same time, I was working on getting to Secaucus, NJ, DTG released its amazing New Jersey Coastline Route. With their wonderful model work of Hoboken Terminal, I was able to reach there too and offer a different approach to Hoboken on the Bergen County Line. And for 5 years you guys have been enjoying both routes. With out the NJ Coastline DLC, my route would been just a freight route.

In the past 2 years, I have worked with 3 different developers to get Erie Lackawanna DLC created. The first developed a GP35 that was a 3rd party release and so not on steam. The second was a project involving the U33/U34CH, which I believe DTG was aware of. Unfortunately, the developer retired before this could be completed. I want to say I tried VERY HARD to get Erie Lackawanna DLC into Steam so we could have Scenarios using that stock. This has not happened yet, but someday perhaps it will. The 3rd developer, who I wanted to build rolling stock for me, actually encouraged me to try my hand painting rolling stock. This is why I am here today with this post, so you can see my work. Perhaps Matt P. and DTG will see it too and consider my project again. Nonetheless, you have the opportunity to sample this work today and take a trip in the late 1960s and early 1970s!

Please be my guest and try some free ware samples and continue to enjoy TS2019 and the Bergen Line.

There’s just something about the Erie Lackawanna paint. You just can’t dislike it at all.

From what I know of Dovetail, there are 2 approach for a DLC (Route/Locomotive) to land on steam.

1 First party add on by DTG
2 3rd party

Basically, first parts are route made in house by DTG and hardly set in the past, and that depends much on licenses. I suppose they are doing market researches to find out which route is going to be the most appealing and clearly people prefer present, more so in America, where I guess it is going to be harder for them to backdate a route since they are british.

3rd parties are much various both in locations and in time. I remeber that there once was the partner program. So basically, you present them your route and they publish it. A similar example is the New Haven Springfield route, wich was built in stages and once completed it went on steam.

So, in my opinion, the best way to see a Erie DLC on steam is the 3rd party. What I humbly suggest to you, is to finish the line as it is in present day to port jarvis and finalise it. Then work to backdate the route on your own. Once it's ready you can present the route along with the repaints, and it could be a go.
There is owever the question of licensing. I have no idea on who holds the right for erie and its logo, so I don't know if that's is the reason in the first place. But again, we have DLC with the Pennsy, Penn Central and New Haven, so that shouldn't be an issue.

That is for the route itself. With the engines, it should be way much easier. There are many repaints on the marketplace (https://store.steampowered.com/search/? ... nn+central), so if your reskin is worth, DTG will surely put it on sale.

Hope my idea is clear, it sounded more clearly in my mind. *!lol!*

Lusia,
Your thinking is similar too my own. However, I wanted to hold Port Jervis hostage for the backdated route and add the Main Line through Patterson. IF they are interest, then the would communicate with me as I have done with them. So, at this juncture, I thought that was over and so I am dedicated to the free ware version at this point. If that situation were to change, obviously I would have to commit to further route building.

It is my understanding that Norfolk Southern owns EL as that was passed to them through Conrail, but that is heresay. I don't recall seeing documentation supporting that.

In addition - the rebuild or backing dating, would require its own structure assets unless I was in the partner programme. It is my understanding there are 2 objection to turning the Bergen into DLC.
1. Workshop routes don't become DLC period
2. To many assets are used ( in my case 5, 3 routes and 2 packs)

I would prefer to have this happen organically - with me receiving an email regarding this, or another established developer who would represent the route to DTG.

Lastly, the hard truth is what kind of interest would be out there. My thought is that the route is so diverse geographically and operationally that its utility would be self-evident!

So, we shall see.
