Cascadian route will not install.

Unread postby Spin » Tue Mar 26, 2019 10:11 pm

I am trying to install the Cascadian route. When the installer is done I get 16 data error messages that txt files were not installed.

The route doesn't show up in the sim. I looked in Quick Drive, Career, Standard, and Free Roam. I redownloaded the route file, and the new one does the same thing. I've never had this problem before.
I go to my routes folder and the route is not being installed. Even if I copy it from the installer Routes folder to my Railworks\Contents\Routes folder, I get those error messages and when I look at the Routes folder in my TS19 install, the a078a... folder is not there.

I am using 7zip to open the RWP package as I always do. I right click on the RWP file, select 7zip, and then Open Archive.

Anyone else run into this?

Why not use the TS utilities to upload the .rwp file instead of opening it. That way worked for me when I installed months ago.

Not sure what might be going wrong here, there's nothing special or unusual about the route's .rwp file. Your method should work (I install my .rwp's the same way). Is your 7zip up to date?

Though if it refuses to work with 7zip for whatever reason, mindenjohn's suggestion of using utilities.exe should always lead to a succesful installation.

The txt file errors should be harmless, those are most likely 0-byte files which might cause the errors but the files are not needed to run the route anyway, they are just there to add an easily recognizable name to the cryptic folder/file names. What confuses me is that the presence of those file shouldn't stop 7zip from extracting the rest of the archive, I've never had any trouble with that before and I know that I have installed archives with 0-byte files in them.
