This model is a Louisville & Nashville railroad reskin of the payware Southern Pacific/Cotton Belt GP30 Livery Add-On. The payware model must be installed for this unit to operate. You can purchase the base model here:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/6781 ... ery_AddOn/

Run RW_AssetSetup to install the model. After unzipping, copy the two GeoPcDx files from Assets\DTM\GM GP30-SP\RailVehicles\SP\Engine and paste them into Assets\DTM\GM GP30-SP\RailVehicles\LnN\Engine. The unit will be installed to Assets\DTM\GM GP30-SP\RailVehicles\LnN. It will be listed in the Scenario Editor as: “EMD GP30 LnN.”

This package is released as freeware. You can do whatever you wish with it EXCEPT make money with its use.

I'm still working with my reskins to make the textures more realistic. At this point I'm dealing with models that are too shiny. Hopefully I will be able to resolve this issue soon.

Harry,
Use DXTbmp and make a alpha channel either from template and then darken it in the editor or just make a plain one that's about 80-85% black and apply it as you save to dds. That should do it.

Thanks Buzz. What do you mean by 80-85% black? I usually make the alpha black 0-0-0 or 32-32-32.

32-32-32 is close to 85% black so I'm not sure why this would end up being still shiny. If you create a Alpha Template in DXTBmp and then darken it way down it should get rid of the shiny surface. Make sure you import each time to DXTBmp so the alpha whatever it is shows up in the Alpha Channel window before you save to dds. I'm not sure what the issue is so let's keep talking to resolve this.

Thanks Buzz. I'm still a work in progress, even at 65 years old.

Now do you mean for us to click "Apply Alpha to Image" and then save to dds, or do you mean for us to create the new alpha and then just save it with the image to dds? I ask because there is an option that actually says "Apply Alpha to Image" in DXTBmp.

If I was to do this I would open a plain image in my whatever editor I'm using (I use Paint.Net for the most part) of the proper size and then flood it with the color 32-32-32 save it to wherever you save your painting kind of stuff. When you are in DXTBmp open you bmp image and then click on Alpha and then 'import alpha channel'. Import that one you just made and then 'save as dds' in the proper format. Now that is applied as the alpha.

What I actually do with most of my paints is try to go into alpha and click on the alpha and do a create a alpha template take it to the editor and darken it to where I want and use it for my alpha. It seems to make the final product a bit crisper while still getting rid of the excess shiny.
