So I have been plugging along on my multiple road, mega Ohio route for 8 years. The fact is I am modeling 6 different railroads with different speed limits, track curvature, switch stands, etc, etc.I have been using appropriate track rules for each part of the line. I know from the early days there are hazards of doing that. I thought I might create a track rule for the whole route, and re-lay or edit it later. So now it is later. I do understand that scenario creation is where this becomes a problem. If you are running a train that stays on that line that has all the same track rules,is that a problem? Then I have one example where a train will run on 3 different RR's to reach its destination.
Now a question regarding flange squeal. What is the formula that determines it? It varies depending on the track rules and curvature. Track that CAN be curved very tightly seem to have less of it. Seems backward. This is a lot to address, and I hope there is a good answer. Joe
