Majestic Falls Gas Electric

Unread postby harryadkins » Tue Oct 23, 2018 11:10 pm

This model is a fictional Majestic Falls Railway reskin of Michael Stephan’s B&M Gas-Electric Doodlebug. I created the model for the freeware Majestic Falls route available on the Steam Workshop. The freeware base model is available here: http://www.stephan-michael.de/railsim/p ... dlebm.html .

While interest in self-propelled cars did exist before the late 1910s in the form of the electric trolley and streetcar as well as a few other examples, the better portion of doodlebug usage in the United States can be traced to this time period. Electro-Motive Corporation began the large scale production of self- propelled railcars using bodies manufactured by Pullman and the St. Louis Car Company. By the 1920s the gas-electric car had become one of the main providers of branch-line service.

Unzip and install using the included RW_AssetSetup.exe installer. In the scenario editor it is listed as: Doodlebug_MFRR.

How about a reskin of the US Army S160 steam locomotive on steam?

Not too big, and not too small. A workhorse that suites the Majestic Falls well in my eyes.

Currently working on MFRR reskin of mrennie's Consolidation. Will look at the USATC 2-8-0 after that.

First off, good job on the gas-electric repaint. I'll be using this one for sure.

Secondly, I'd like to see the S160 repainted as well. I think it would be a good companion for the "Smokebox" Consolidation as his is more of lightweight and the S160 is more a heavyweight.

And third, I'd suggest the BritKits "Shay Class C", and the G-TraX BLE 0-6-0 for steam repaints. And the ALCO RS-1 (Either the G-TraX version or the one that comes with the RWA route.).

Thanks
