That's not the batch file in question. Luac stands for lua compile. You have to manually choose between openal32/64.dll to get it working.

Can you post the contents of your bat file? I suppose it copies the x86 or x64 into the Railworks root folder.

Anyway, I am having Steam verify the whole Railworks, a 168474 MB.

The problems will get sorted over time but it is disappointing to always have problems with DTG games. Hardly any other game in my Steam gave so much trouble as Railworks over the years.

I chose to only let it install the 64bit version which in my case already came with all dlls to run on 64bit and 32bit. For those who didn't choose the option in steam before auto-updating it, I can't say exactly what dlls are or might be missing.

EDIT: Here's the layout on my end.

Actually I did not expected them to throw away new Max Plugins to us. But this is a great news for me.

Had no problems starting game in 32 or 64 bit. Ran no batch file. Had dialog box asking to run railsimulator or rum railsimulator in 64 bit. Both ran fine. Also some updates for some DLC. One is adding whistle posts to Soldiers Summit extension.

My newer gaming rig that is still on Windows 7 also got updated. The other rig upthread has been updated to Windows 10 from Seven so that could be the source of Visual C version problems etc etc.

On the newer rig the 64 bits starts, but crashes on the Downloading Workshop and Saving Scenario phase like I am accustomed to. This is probably due to the many workshop scenarios I've subscribed to.
So going 64 bits didn't clear that problem unfortunately.

Anyone else have a significant FPS decrease on the 64 bit version? In identical scenarios with identical settings, I am receiving 40 FPS in the 32 bit version and 14 FPS in the 64 bit version. Tried loading up some different routes/stock, and the results are similar. My installation auto updated, and I don't have a BAT file in my installation to run.

Edit: My computer defaulted to its integrated graphics for the 64 bit version. Can't believe I didn't think of that before, as this isn't the first time it has happened on my system.

After a quick test, I noticed a 0-5% increase in frame rates, CPU fan is working less or minimally instead of always maxed. Upgrade may have changed the TOD setting on a saved quick drive, this having to do with DanSSG's mod on the Cheyenne Extension. I have to re-check this, however.

There have been no issues with the scripts on Smokebox stock. If anything, they're even more smooth than they were.

That's my $0.02 ...

I can do this without dumping. That's 3 EPs, and 2 full locomotives, the AC44 having 9k textures in places, plus all of the reefers have a randomized clip of running when loaded that runs about 5 minutes long.

TS2019 ran straight out of the box for me, although when I clicked on the TS2019 taskbar icon it started in 32bit mode. To run in 64bit you can either start it from your Steam TS Library page by right-clicking on the TS button on the right and in the drop-down menu select TS 64bit. Some people are creating a 64bit icon on their desktop by pasting the 64bit icon from their Railworks directory. The download from Steam should be 2.4gb. If yours is not something went wrong and you. This solution from DTG on Steam. "Please try restarting Steam as you do not appear to have got the full download. Restarting Steam usually helps it to find missing updates."

I did not pursue or use any bin files; pretty much went in blind and let the Steam Client do it's thing. When I viewed the download progress, it listed something like 756 mb as I recall. I restarted the Steam client a couple of times, but did not notice any additional download activity. Everything seems to be functioning, but I'll check again later for any additional updates, since in my case, it was nowhere near 2.4 GB of dl content as mentioned previously by Trev (but then I only updated my current installation, and did not purchase the full version). Full narrative of my upgrade experience follows:

1. Started Steam client (not the sim) and Railworks began performing the update automatically. Afterwards it prompted a restart to update the Steam Client, which I did.

2. Rather than start the sim from the Steam client, I located the new RailWorksx64.exe in the root folder, then right-clicked and selected "properties" and in the "compatibility" tab, selected "run this program as administrator" and clicked "apply". Then again right-clicked on the exe and selected "send to - desktop (create shortcut). Then double-clicked the new shortcut, which started the x64 bit edition as evidenced when selecting the "settings" button, which displayed "v65.6f (x64)" in the lower left corner of the settings window. Started a free roam scenario to test, and all was okay.

3. Went back into settings > tools and selected "clear cache" and "restart". Upon restart, selected "settings" and discovered that the x32 bit version was running instead. Closed the sim and selected the x64 bit shortcut to manually complete the x64 bit restart. Confirmed x64 bit was running in "settings".

4. Checked workshop content by running a scenario on the Bergen - all okay.

5. Checked third-party non-workshop content by running the MRL route - all okay.

6. Exited the sim and Steam Client, then un-plugged the dsl cable to check off-line functionality. Clicked on the x64bit shortcut and was prompted to login to Steam, so that was a "fail". So I clicked on the old x32 bit shortcut, and the "start in off-line mode" prompt appeared as usual, then started the x32 bit version and exited, leaving the Steam Client icon (off-line) in the system tray. Then clicked again on the x64 bit icon, and this time it worked. So, as long as I go into off-line mode using the 32 bit version and exit, I can bring up the x64 bit version (as long as I don't exit the off-line Steam Client). Hopefully this gets fixed soon so we don't have to keep doing the shortcut dance. Other than that, I am very pleased with the process, and look forward to discovering the new capabilities of the x64 bit upgrade. I hope this narrative is of some help to those who may be experiencing problems.

Well, I must be blessed, I looked for the 64 bit start RailWorks64.exe and placed it on my desktop right away as I already had a 32 bit link there already. TS2019 started in 64 bit mode right off the bat, no problems with sound or anything in regards to starting the simulator. Same goes for going back to the 32 bit version, starts right up, no problems. Now to find out what is broken.

Edit: As I had suspected the Google Map Overlay doesn't work in 64 or 32 bit mode, but it does work on my instanced copy of TS 32bit 62.8b which I use for design work. So the Overlay needs some work.
