Finished and uploading to the site now. This will require the VRC GP40 Undecorated Pack to use.

Think she turned out quite well.

Had to take them out a bit on the Kingwood Branch. May have had to throw some sand because I wasn't paying attention to the grade and started going the wrong way while taking pictures. !*roll-laugh*!

*!sad!*

I do not have the undecorated model, I guess it wasn't included in the mega pack. Is there a workaround for it to use any of the other models as the base or would it require a whole new repaint to be made?

It would pretty much have to be a different repaint due to having to change all the bin callouts and the slight differences in each model.

Too bad this is unusable do to the fact that VRC has taken down the GP40 because of people complaining about their model.

I've taken some time to think about my response to this.

The answer is that - it's not useless. It may be limited due to circumstances outside of my control - but it is not useless.

The simple truth is that things can have a lifespan. Supporting something in perpetuity costs money and time, and effort, and for a niche market with a niche product with a especially niche marketplace - that's not something that is reasonable to expect.

Which is to say - yes, you may expect it to be available for perpetuity.
And yes, maybe it will.
But if it isn't - that's unfortunate, but there tends to be significant reasons - ROI, support time, time constraints, etc.

I would also feel worse about this if there weren't other similar items available in the marketplace today.

Sure - the GP35 by Travel by Trains isn't quite the same as a VRC GP40, but it does capture at least a similar quality of sounds and detail, if not the advanced scripting.

I'm sorry you can't utilize this repaint. I really am. But to call it useless is false. Because at the end of the day - I've created something for myself to enjoy, and have chosen to share it with the community at large (which, does not come without its own costs - in my case the model+Corel Paintshop Pro + time).

Your time is appreciated, and I'm enjoying the results of your work. Its a good repaint. There are lots of people who did buy the VRC Undec pack when it was released, and will be able to as well. !!*ok*!!

I apologize, I didn't mean it exactly as I posted. I meant that do to the removal of the GP-40 UND at VRC has made your hard work not available for everyone to use. When I sent an email and ask them if it was available, their answer was they removed it do to all the complaints about the GP40 UND Shape. Was this Download Freeware? I have the other GP40's from VRC.

I guess apology is not accepted. Oh well, people make mistakes and that is being human.

Apology and forgiveness is absolutely accepted and granted. I've been incredibly distracted of late, and I have done you wrong, and I'm sorry.
