Sacramento Northern Catenary

I am looking at the Catenary on the Sacramento Northern route and i want to use it. Is it a Gantry tool that you can place along the route or were all the poles manually placed in by hand?

Unfortunately, it appears there is no tool.
Maybe they used that same fiddly bit that can be used for placing fences?
I feel your pain I was bummed too. Still that route is soo awesome I wasn't bummed for long!

The placement just seems to perfect for the Cat placement though. it looks like a tool was used but like you said there is no tool. I wonder, how did this catenary get set up if there is no tool?

This is the response i got.

I used a combination of custom catenary tools and (when that failed) manual installation. The catenary tools should show up in the Track Infrastructure list but you're right, they don't. I don't know what happened to them. I thought maybe they got removed in the RWP export process but they're in some of the earlier beta RWPs. I'm pretty sure DTG will want me to update the route once the feedback dies down, so I'll try to restore them.

By the way, the tool is OK up to a point and it saves a lot of work, but there are many instances where you have to set the poles manually and wire them up one by one.

So i guess there being no tool was an error when it was released.

In all reality, it really isn't that hard to create a catenary tool for the SN OHLE. Its simply a matter of converting a DTG OHLE catenary tool .bin file and using the SN catenary gantry geometry within the tool, and then saving it within a convenient known RailNetwork\Catenary folder for your route. Make certain you change the name and display name within the .xml and also save to your folder with a new name that makes sense. And, make certain the naming is correct in relationship to the anchor points or your catenary will be opposite what you expect. I made one for a route I am working on and it worked great.
