Portland Terminal missing scenery

Unread postby TexAvery » Sun Nov 13, 2016 11:44 pm

Hey everyone, I'm well aware of the withdrawal of the Portland Terminal route from the market. I still have it and tried using it again the other day but ran into an issue: I don't have a lot of the scenery that should I used to, namely most bridges. I did a search of the forums and couldn't find anything relevant. Does anyone know how I could get these scenery items back?

If you have the Steam version, go to your TS Steam Library page, and in the contents box in the middle find the route and untick the box to uninstall it, wait until it says not installed, then tick the box again to download it and hope that that fixes your missing textures issue.

Another issue might be your scenery density bar in the graphics settings. If it isn't set to the highest level, not everything will appear.

One other thought. You might want to use RWTools and have it find all ap files. Look and see how many are RED in Color. Use RWTools unzip utility to unpack the ap files and see if that don't fix your issue.

Both of these sound like good places to start!

In case increasing the scenery density doesn't do any good for me, what's the procedure for having RWTools find those AP files? Is the unzip utility in the same area? I'm not fluent in RWTools at all; I mostly use it to swap out rolling stock in scenarios.

Have you tried my procedure above ? You might have a corrupt file/files and this should solve the issue.

Sorry for the delay; work has been keeping me busy.

I tried what goddrauG suggested first because it was simplest and it worked. I didn't even have my slider down that low, but bumping it up to full brought back significant amounts of scenery.
