The top picture is actually an express refrigerator franked for the SP/UP jointly operated Pacific Fruit Express, but Pullman Standard did make some express freight cars on the same pattern. ordinarily, the old reefers and express freight cars were painted in Pullman green, the same as the early heavyweight passenger cars. Later schemes/liveries were still keyed to the trains they'd be with. The express cars were set up to run on the head end, so they had through steam and electrical lines in addition to the brakes.

Even today, Amtrak runs express fruit loads, one trip we took on the Empire Builder had us stop in Wenatchee, WA to pick up a refrigerator carload of apples for Chicago. now, the freight rides at the rear, as the cars are not equipped for the hotel pass throughs.

why not make some new 100 ton coal hoppers for a little more modern railroading! why not even make one of those combination boxcar cabooses while you are at it! (the long wooden cabooses with the big door on the side for freight!)

of course when i say modern i am talking about 70's-90's (early 90's) lot's of interesting stuff throught the 70's and 80's! but i would like another modern coal hopper for some modern railroading, all we truly have is the default bathtub hoppers and those got old 2 years ago!

Micheal is a busy person. You can ask him to do one or two requests, just be careful how much you ask of him. Since he's already overloaded by unfinished products.

And you should also mention as what you would like the request to be if he did make it. Would you like to see it as payware, or would you like to see it as freeware.
