ScotRail BR Class 68 Traction Motor Volume Enhancement Pack (7/9/16)

Unread postby FanRailer » Sun Jul 10, 2016 9:05 am

This is the DTG ScotRail BR Class 68 Locomotive ABB AC Traction Motor Sound Volume Enhancement Pack.

In order to utilize this freeware sound upgrade, you must have purchased the "Train Simulator: ScotRail Class 68 Loco Add-on" available here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/376930/

This is a freeware pack; in no way is it to be used for commercial purposes. You are free, however to further modify the sound enhancements found in this pack for personal use if you so choose.

THIS IS NOT A PHYSICS PACK; volume enhancement made around existing physics.

The purpose of this pack is to raise the volume of the traction motor sounds on the Class 68, which is far too low by default.

IMPORTANT; Install Instructions

1. Open the following directory: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\DTG\Class68Pack01"
2. Open the "DTG_Class_68_Traction_Motor_Volume_Enhancement_Pack.rar" file
3. Drag the folder from the .rar file into the directory from step 1.
4. Sound mod installation is complete.
5. Run TS2016 to confirm.

Thank you for downloading and installing. Please contact me if there is a problem with the functionality of this mod pack.
Enjoy =)

Have you posted this on the British and Steam forums, Mike, I'm sure it'll go down well.

I don't post there, but if anyone cares enough to copy it over to those forums, by all means, go for it. I don't post mods onto the steam boards usually because the admins take them down.

I'm very happy to post threads on various forums and get folks to come over here, rather than having multiple download URLs all over the place, I presume that Bob will have this pack in the RWA library at some stage in the future?

And this mod is for the Traction Motors Volume, have you any plans to do a Physics pack mod as well, or, anything else in the future which will get even more interest from the Brits, this locomotive appears to be extremely popular at the moment and I'm sure any realistic/authentic modifications will go down a treat with everybody, especially, from a well established developer/creator as your goodself. !*salute*!

The physics are relatively accurate, at least from a tractive effort curve POV. The locomotive does not load very prototypically, at least from what I've heard, but that's a scripting issue that is out of my hands to fix.
