Scenario Manager Issue

Unread postby hughes407 » Mon May 16, 2011 5:17 pm

I have been using Claudio Mussa's Scenario Manager since he announced it on this forum a couple months ago. It provides RailWorks users with the ability to capture multiple saves of a scenario just as we had with MSTS and it works as advertised. However, I have hit a problem or limitation where the tool has stopped capturing saves for newly installed scenarios. It still works for those scenarios installed before this showed up. I have been in touch with Claudio about this. I have done some experimentation and have a pretty good guess as to what is happening.

I believe there is a ceiling in the tool that limits the number of scenarios that the tool can track. I have loaded most US routes that I have come across along with their associated scenarios so I have a fair number. I removed several routes that I am not using much from the Content folder. Now the scenarios that were not being captured are working fine. I should add that I am using Version 1.1 of the tool and 1.2 is available. I have requested the update but haven't received it yet so this may or may not fix the problem.

This tool takes some stress out of running Railworks since I can now make as many saves as I want. I used to be reluctant to make a new save because I might need to go back to an older point. So, as a result, I could get burned either choice I made. So don't let my issue get in the way of using the Scenario Manager. I'm sure Claudio will find a fix for it and probably is already working on it. It's hard to imagine why every RailWorks user isn't using this valuable tool. To me, it's right up there with Train Store and Route Riter in MSTS and RWTools in RailWorks.
