I never had a problem with the self install exe file Version1 That was the first thing I did was install it.
However I did not get any version 1.1 or version 1.2 on that same link page.
These files were sent to me after I asked for help downloading the complete set of files. This may be my problem.
I'm still not sure what to do with these files. I guess I will just watch this post and see if someone comes up with the answer.

I have been reading all of these post and have tried all the suggested fixes.
I have had version 1.1 and version 1.2 pasted them into the asset files and they are overwriting the files.
Just trying to get the sounds to work here.
Remember the only dumb question is the one you don't ask!
I'm not looking to find faults.

I understand but all I can tell you is that I carefully followed the instructions and have installed this on two different computers and it works on both of them.

Hi,
lets try to establish what exactly is wrong in your case.
If you load up and try the "All to-gether ..." scenario for the Donner pass.
Are there any engine sounds being produced at all. If so, how can you tell that they are not the modified sounds you are hearing.
To see if anything has altered in your files - check Assets\MLW Audio -Right click then properties and see if your display size is similar to my attachment.
In my case. First I placed a new folder on the desktop, called EMDOovee. Then extracted EMD40SerriesSounds_v1..zip into it. I then copied and pasted these files into the Assets file where the current version of Railworks is presently located, in my case F:\ drive. Having done that the versions , v1.1 and v1.2, being straightforward zip files, i.e no installer, just used 7zip and installed them.
I would suspect for anyone to give you assistance, they will need a little more info from you as to what you have done and what where the results.

OK, I appreciate all of your help and I have been loading up the United Way engine to check out the sounds and other engines on the list that are on the download page. And these engines sound exactly like they did before, with the horn sound like an old cow. So I know they have not changed.
I will tell you exactly what I have done with the downloads when I come back from a meeting I have to attend. *!sad!*
Again thanks for all your help.

Thanks for that video. Now I know what I'm missing *!sad!*
I have no engines that sound like that! My engines still have the original sounds.
Looks like I will have to delete the downloads somehow and start over from scratch.
when I copied and pasted the version 1.1 and 1.2 that must be what I did wrong, I'm not sure if I was suppose to paste each folder into folders with the same name or just paste the complete folder of each version into the Asset folder?
I really want these great sounds. I may just buy them again so I can start from scratch and hope that works.
I only know enough about these type of files to be dangerous !*salute*!

Anyway thanks so much for this video, at least I can hear what they sound like. Great sounds.

You are *&!welcome!&* Just copy the assets folders across and paste then into the main railworks folder and the files in the assets folder will find where to go themselves.

You solved my problem *!!thnx!!*
I now have that sweet sound. Now that's what I call real sounds.
What I was doing was not correct so nothing worked.
I will be looking for their next sounds for other model engines now.
Thanks again all of you guys trying to get me on the right Track. !!**sorry**!! I need a lot of help sometimes with anything with folders.
I'll try to be quiet for a while :D

Ah well,
I don't have the sd40-2 independence DLC. Really cannot justify a £12 spend to check a £4 mod :-)
Whatever I have sounds good, so guess I'll stick with it.
