Detroit Edison would actually be a neat scheme to have because they ran on the old Monon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkQLRCvrlt4. Although, the former DE U30's purchased by the LS&I were used almost exclusively as parts donors. So many possible schemes for this beast.

LS&I had both of these paint schemes. There was a red one with yellow stripes but I don't think any of the U30C's were ever done in that paint scheme.

Why do they have Blomberg trucks? AAR type B trucks were standard for GE? SCL and WP 4 axle U-boats have Blomberg trucks. It would be nice for stock U30B's to have AAR trucks.

TaD shop will sell these too?

Some railroads like W.P. opted to have the Blomberg trucks recycled off of traded in EMD units to save money. I've read in the past, that rail crews didn't like the U Boats with the Blombergs on them, because they wallowed back and forth like a ship on the sea. Apparently the AAR trucks were more stable.
I've wondered if that was only applicable to the GE rebuilds, or if EMD engines with those same trucks wallowed too.
New build. i7-7700k, MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Mobo, Hyper 212 Evo, Corsair DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM, Klipsch Pro Mediea 2.1 Speakers, Samsung 850 Evo SSD, HAF XM Case, Asus Strix GTX 1070 and Cooler Master Storm XT Keyboard.

From what i've read, Swing Hanger Trucks were preferred by most railroads because they gave a better ride. Never heard much about what ACL and WP thought of them on GE's. The 30B's also had a third type truck, like the ones used under the Dash 840-B's, that i've seen on the Chessie units.

I just asked dad he latter question "I've wondered if that was only applicable to the GE rebuilds, or if EMD engines with those same trucks wallowed too". he said the EMD's that had the blombergs did in fact wallow.

Is there still a Reading version in the works? Also, I would love to see a CSX U30C!
Thanks

We will see how our upcoming Undecorated GP40 Pack goes. If we aren't shangheid by pirates, we may release a U30C "Do It Yourself" paint kit as well.

The ugliest? As being a GE fan (wow, shocker among EMD fans),U-boats rule! !*YAAA*!

1. Reading has been tabled.
2. Buzz has supplied a CSX skin, just haven't gotten around to installing it yet.
3. Working on an "upgraded" version of the unit.

I thought an S.P. version was supposed to be in the works.
You know... the one with a working Gyra-Lite. *!greengrin!*

We need a West Coast Pack. S.P, Santa Fe and U.P.
