Where's the December gift?

Unread postby OldProf » Sat Dec 19, 2015 11:05 am

Some months ago, RSC/DTG promised all of us a monthly freebie piece of rolling stock, no? Let's see: in October ... well, actually, I've forgotten what we received in October and November, but unless I'm mistaken nothing has appeared in December thus far. Or has it just slipped by me?

Apparently it's been delayed a bit, but no word as to when it'll be released.

Took a look at Engine Driver site this morning: apparently, our December freebie is supposed to be that "pump car" RSC has been threatening to issue for some time, but their distribution department has fallen behind (or, perhaps, fallen on its behind?). There's also a pump car scenario contest, but without the main feature, !DUH! .

I shall be holding my breath (not easy to do whilst Wassailing all over the town).
!!howdy!!

Whoops: I see that Ephelba snuck in his **!!2cents!!** , but that shall not deter this carrier from his self-appointed rounds.

If I had my way you would have got the 3rd in the Christmas trilogy saga...you guys will now never know the ending...
But someone at DTG towers was keen to get the pump car out there :)

Feeling sad my 'Dopey' Christmas routes are frowned upon... ;)

Giving credit where it's due, DTG/RSC has sent out a 2nd December gift: another fine freight wagon from fastline Simulation, in this case a brake van. On the other hand, yes, there's the infamous "pump car": well, I find it impossible to get excited about or even interested in something that looks like this in action:

Two irresistible lines come to mind: 1) This is evidently a hands-off job of work; 2) I've heard of products "flying off the shelf", but this freebie flies off the handles; and 3) looks like a new Olympic event: non-synchronized pumping!

Which begs the obvious question: how long before sound fixes and repaints start appearing?

P.s.: Derek, I for one fiercely appreciate your masterfully crafted route (Weardale & Teesdale, that is); your Christmas routes have been fun to run and demonstrate imagination and inventiveness, but by nature do not lend themselves to all-year play.

!!howdy!! !!jabber!! !!howdy!!

Is the pump car only available for the people who bought TS2016, or do the people with the free upgrade get it?

From memory only people who purchased it. When you first started it up you got a window where it asked you to sign up if you wanted the free gift.
