AcademyLogo

Unread postby Sibell » Fri Nov 06, 2015 5:32 am

Hey, after creating the O.N. Rail SD70 I search all files for the path who let the game knows where to load the AcademyLogo. But I don't find any path which strictly goes to it.
Normally I thought this would be inside the SD70.bin file...but with the search function and my own search by scrolling down the file I found nothing.
Does anybody searched for it too, or have an idea where I can find it ? !**conf**!

It is in the Academy folder in DTG.

It's possible that it may be that the logo is accessed in the Geo file

If you want to remove the Academy logo: just download this, it has a GeoPcDx that will hide the logo completely: http://www.raildesigns.de/downloads/dtg ... 4-academy/

Ehm, if I want the logo invincible I don't have to dl a geo which is edited...for this I only have to make it transparent 0.
My reason asking about that, is to dublicate it and made some own logos for several engines. My Ontario SD70 use the AcademyLogo which I changed to O.N. Rail logo.
And for this I need the line in the .bin which refers to the AcademyLogo.

There is nothing there. What you need to do is just edit the Academy logo texture. Unfortunately that changes it for all things in there. There is no call in the bin file. It is as has been pointed out comes from the geo. If you use that altered geo then you could put your lettering or whatever on the side of the locomotive itself.

I think the geo could be edited in RailWorksTools to point to the new texture.

I've run into issues like this repainting the Bombardier coaches and Empire Builder cars and may have a solution. If you copy the entire RailVehicles folder and name it something like "RailVehiclesON" or "RailVehiclesOntario" you simply change that directory in the bin files. It seems for most rolling stock the shape file's directory can only go as high as "RailVehicles" because otherwise it is reading into the main asset folder. Making a new RailVehicles folder will make sure it reads from the files in that RailVehicles folder rather than the default. You may want to clear any rolling stock other than the SD70 from this new folder though so there aren't duplicates. If you need more help with this feel free to PM me :D

John, You have to be real careful about going there. If anyone publish a modified Geo they are most certainly guilty of piracy.

It most certainly would be piracy. I didn't know it was for a release. Can the included instructions for the repaint explain how to do this so it can work the way it's intended? I'm not sure if that would be illegal?
