However I think we should open a dedicated thread to discuss further the advanced brakes, usage, their issues, advantages, feelings, etc...It is certainly an important subject. :D

I know this is my first post. I have gotten a lot of information off this website. I think this might be relevant to this thread.

I was slightly irritated with the NYNH SD40-2 braking system. I had an IBM software engineer over the house to try to fix it. By accident we put it in to "Brake Difficulty #4".

After a few hours I figured out how it was done. It takes some LUA scripting and a save of a current scenario. Now when I resume the train starts off in Brake Difficulty #4. Testing it -if I go in to Emergency the train might take an hour to recharge.

I can post the details if there is interest.
