Ken, I'm not sure what you've been trying to change regarding the weather: the route, or the scenario. I know that in the scenario editor within rw_tools you have the option to change weather. I know two subfolder locations in the assets folder where I typically them from: "Kuju" and "JL" (Canadian Mountain Pass). Within each one is a weather folder, and all the .bin files are there for the various weather scenes. Did you try that? Good luck!

I hate to Bump this thread but I just wanted to give everyone a progress update on this route.

I'm still working on it slowly but surely...slowly being the key word here. My work schedule and social life (not to mention railfanning :D ) seem to be taking more and more time away from me getting any decent time to work on this route. I'm only working on the route a couple days a week (If I'm lucky).

So here's some major updates I did...
I streamlined my assets down to assets from the Penn Coal Route, NJ Coast line Route, and RCAP Only. (RCAP uses maybe 5% of the scenery and the rest is mostly NJ Coast Line/Penn Coal)

I have extended the route to more than just the Lehigh Line...to include...The National Docks Secondary (up to Croxton Yard), The Garden State Secondary (former Chemical Coast Line) with continuation into South Amboy onto the Amboy Secondary, and Port Reading Secondary.

So as you can see it is a vast route and some of the areas are a challenge to scenery especially for a novice like me. (If anyone has any tips or would like to help PLEASE let me know! :D )
Since a lot of the Chemical Coast/Port Reading Secondary is somewhat in the NJ Coast line route, I've been trying to duplicate the scenery from that route into my route (which is a lot harder than I thought)
This is the same with the Croxton Yard Area which can be found on the North Bergen route in the Workshop on Steam
So hopefully I can get somewhat of a start on more scenery and get you guys more screenshots but at this rate I think this route is going to take forever for me to finish especially on my own.
I'd love to get it somewhat presentable by Spring/Summer but at this rate I have nothing set in stone.
So yeah, that's my update for now.

If anyone has any comments/encouragement/what have you feel free to comment or message me!

Until next time,

Ken

Perhaps release a section at a time to get player feedback rather than doing it all and getting tired of it?

Looking great so far! We really need some more NS owned/operated routes!

Thanks for the feedback. :D

I might think of doing small sections. I actually had to update the DEM for the route, so as I start working on adding scenery i'll be adjusting the track level and what not. Kind of debating on which direction i want to work on... if I want to go east to west or west to east, or from both ends and meet in the middle. I have a lot of route miles to work with so I could also start on the branch lines too. It's a daunting task, but it will get done.

Until next time,

Ken

Hi all,

So i'm now doing the fun part of adding scenery (and lots of it). I'm trying to find a good representation of the "Hill to Hill Bridge" in Bethlehem, PA. Here's a picture of it ( the concrete viaduct)...Image

I'm trying to figure out what assets would make a good representation of it crossing the Susquehanna River. Anyone have any Arch bridges in other routes that would make a good stand in?

Here's a link with more pictures: http://historicbridges.org/bridges/brow ... otosvideos since I'm kind of stumped. Any input is welcome.

Ken,

Do consider limiting yourself to as few assets as possible - it forces you to be creative - and your subscribers will love you for it.
This I assembled from sections of the Viaduct Durham in the European Asset Pack I use on the Bergen. On the right had side of the picture you can see I changed the Z axis to stretch the bridge to make a broader arch. Hope this helps.

Ken,

What assets are you currently using for the route?

Hey all,

Sorry for the late reply (I've been really busy as of late)

To answer your questions...

Adam, I was thinking of using that bridge but was trying to figure out how to manipulate it. Thanks for the example.

I'm using elements from the following routes:
PennCoal, NJ Coast Line (95% of the route uses this), HSC (for tunnel portals), Sherman Hill for searchlight signals, RCAP, and Steven's Pass for some assets (equipment detectors).

Is that too many?

I also decided to update everyone with a pic of my latest work: Image

Hey all decided to upload one more pic (still a work in progress but you should have an idea of where it is) Let me know what you think.

You do realize that once you get to the national docks - our routes can interchange.
The Bergen has the tunnel and track that goes a mile towards that point.

I would love route to route interchange.

Would you be willing to conform to workshop and put your route up there? You do get an expanded audience!
And as a fallen flag route I appreciate the company!

Hey you can all ready interchange with the New York-New Haven route and the North Jersey Coast, how many more do you need? !*roll-laugh*! *!greengrin!* It would be awesome if they could all be merged and NOT crash computers due to frame rates.
