I've promised a Santa Fe chief E7, so that's next. After that, I have one or two surprises. Then I'll do the Daylight.

BTW, uploaded the Bloody nose F7 and E7 to Hawk tonight.

I'm doing a CN F7 on the default model for my own benefit; one thing I noticed though was that the freight livery seems to have a black top to the nose, presumably to cut down reflections. Or well, a lot of them do anyway.

The boxcar you mentioned is a steam-heating generator, I think, as shown here.

Was mentioned there, I'm assuming that's a steam generator. Makes a bit more sense than a passenger-livery freightcar anyway :)

actually it was probably the express baggage car or a reefer car. the reefers looked alot like the boxcars and the express baggage cars were just boxcars, the older ones said express baggage on the side but the newer ones didn't

In UK terms that would be called "non-passenger coaching stock", and actually even then isn't usually fully passenger livery I guess. Well, the baggage van equivalents are.

BTW, CN freight or passenger livery? ( and who provides 40' steel boxcars, btw ).

The Steam Jenny had smooth ends and matching paint.

Mr. Cowen at Britkits has a freeware 40' Box in a repaint kit with a short gondola.

I got permission from Rick at G-Trax to use his passenger coaches to repaint, so I can use up the rest of that lot of paint.

Yeah, I had it already, I'm just trying to find something that will open the psp files in the paintkit. And yuck, the autonumbers are in totally the wrong place :(

Mike, I hope its me, but when I change the number of the engine, the numbers disappear. This is not happening with the default Family Lines engines.

Sorry to co-opt your thread for a minute, Mike.

Made a start tonight, got other pressing things to do so I'll carry on later when I have time to work out where all the bits of this model are. I had to do all that text by hand :S. The autonumbers are somewhere at the bottom of the panel on the left, so sorry no autonumbers.

Kali, is that a 40' box car? If so is it from Britkits?

In the later years SP used reconditioned 40' box cars for lumber and paper, and from what I am reading, they were in high demand. I am still trying to find out why those two industries had to use 40' and not the newer 50'. From what I read, SP wanted to use the 50's.
