trying to change the sounds on the marketplace CSX SD70

I have tried several times to change the marketplace CSX SD70. I got the 710 sound mod from the file library, and installed it according to the directions. And yet, it still sounds like the DTG SD70 sounds. I'm at a loss as to what to do. How should I proceed?

IIRC the SD70 Sounds are copied over from the SD70V2 pack. Atleast it is for me.

I've even tried that method too. And it still doesn't work. I've tried every method that I know how to. Like copy the sounds from the SD70V2 to the CSX SD70. And yet the default SD70 sounds persist. So, I don't know what I'm doing wrong

Neither do we since you haven't described the steps you took. If you would share what you did perhaps one of us could help out.

Ok, so what I did was take the 710 engine sound mod and used the file 70.xml from the pack 2. No change in sound. I then took the 70.xml file from the pack 03 and still, no change. I then used the pack 04 xml file. and yet again, no change. I then thought about deleting the audio file and copy in the audio file from the SD70 pack 2. And again, no change. Still the default sound.

Seems pretty easy by the instructions.

HOW TO INSTALL

Simply copy and paste the sounds into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\SD70Pack01(2,3 etc)\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACe

Copy and paste the SD70 PROXYXML file.

I have followed the instructions to a "T". And to add to that, I have done it several times with the marketplace CSX SD70 but with no luck. So, I'm constantly back at square 1

Let's walk through this carefully. I just installed it and it works fine here. You need to take go into the SD70Pack04_CSX_BY file folder. I am assuming you have the .ap file unpacked. Go into the Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACe. Copy and paste the six .wav files there from the EMD 710 Sound Mod file.

Then go into the SD70 Pack 4 folder and copy the SD70.proxyxml and then paste it into the SD70ACe folder. It should ask you if you want to replace the SD70.proxyxml file. Say yes.

Restart the game (or start the game) It should work now.

Yes, it did ask me if I wanted to replace the original file. I clicked yes. So, now once again, I'm back to square one. I haven't a clue as to what to do.

D/L this then take your SD70Pack04_CSX_BY \Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70ACe folder in your pack 04 and re-name it SD70ACe.xxx. Then unzip this and put it into the Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel folder where you old one was. This is the whole folder and it works on my machine.
