Only one starting point showing.

Discussion about RailWorks scenario creation.

Only one starting point showing.

When starting a scenario, say for instance, in NERW, you are given a list of starting points for the scenario. I just got into playing around with the Scenario Editor, and for one of the routes I'm working with, it only gives the Route Origin as a starting point. Once into the scenario editor for that particular route, you can navigate to all of the track points with the GPS and fly to the area of interest. What determines the content of the Editor start up screen at the beginning? Is it track markers, GPS markers or some other asset that may be missing?

It is route markers, more specifically Named Markers.
You can make them with RW-Tools and possibly other tools.

Why rely on route markers at all? Open an existing scenario for editing, use the 2D map to find the starting point you want to use for your scenario, return to the 3D view at that point and place your scenario marker. This is the only way to locate a scenario marker exactly where you want it (usually alongside the track where you will place your player engine) instead of settling for the route maker's pre-placed markers.

Because route markers will let you choose a general area. Then you don't have to edit an existing scenario, just make anew one. The scenario marker is moveable, even more so now with the new anti flying fix.

I hadn't noticed the "new anti-flying fix", Bob. So I won't be able to fling a scenario marker into orbit, spend hours searching for it, only to give up and start over again anymore? Phooey! What fun is that? And I still prefer to open an extant scenario for editing and place my new marker exactly where I want it. A clear case of different strokes for different folks. !*cheers*!

Oh I forgot to mention, grab an object and hold shift and it won't fly away. Nice for laying bridges and moving stuff like scenario markers a long distance.

Bob . . . any chance that you'll eventually provide a list of tricks and tips related to TS2015? It's one of the many things that RSC should do for us, but never bothers to provide. !*hp*!
