Official Patch release Wed 12/11

Unread postby ozinoz » Tue Nov 11, 2014 4:59 pm

DTG will be releasing the latest TS2015 patch on Wednesday 12/11 UK time (http://steamcommunity.com/app/24010/dis ... 101421935/)

No idea what is being patched out of the list of items from the beta release, but most important item from the news release - UPDATE your TS install.

!*cheers*!

NB: for our US cousins that is Wednesday 12th November, NOT 11th December. - wish you could write in English !*roll-laugh*!

I believe my Steam install has just been patched to v48.9a, which seems exactly like the beta of a fortnight ago.
No significant changes that I noticed.
Gamemanager.dll, the core of the game is now 81222144 bytes.

Every time or since the update?

Check the timestamps and filesizes of Gamemanager.dll from your Steam install against your backup.

Perhaps Steam delivered some incomplete files, so after comparing against your backup you could try to verify the game's intergrity through the Properties menu of TS 2015's Steam window.

Every time since the update. I'll try verifying the game cache sometime but I'm not crazy about that because I'll have to reinstall all my updates to DTG content. *!rolleyes!*

You are right, it is still a choice between do or die when you have many modded files in your install.

Anyway, in my main Railworks folder there are 20 changed files:
v48.9a_main_folder.jpg

AddIns has 2 changed files:
v48.9a_addins.jpg

Plugins has 3 changed files:
v48.9_plugins.jpg

Dev\Shaders also has 112 changed files
Perhaps this helps to compare file sizes.

If you have the beta version patch, the patch just released is the same. As I had the beta patch, when I started TS there was no TS update. The only update I got was a Steam one. I have been running the beta since it was first released and encountered no problems. I actually have not encountered any problems with TS2105 since it came out.

Try this if you haven't already done the verify.

1. Completely exit Steam.
2. Navigate to your Steam installation folder (~C:\Program Files\Steam).
3. Delete the 'appcache' folder.
4.Restart your computer and attempt to launch the game through Steam.

Trev
To get the "update or "non-update"" from the beta you have to first "opt" out of the beta and then this latest patch then downloads and reverts the title back to Train Simulator 2015. You may need to do this to get subsequent patches.

I hadn't started steam for a few days so I knew I would get the update. It first downloaded around 33 MB then it did a verification! Did it do that for everyone?
It's now downloading another 256 MB. I've never had to do a verification so I suppose all the installed mods are gone? I'm never going to get all those back. !*not-ok*! Crap.

I have some set up with two click but also had a bunch before that. Oh well.

So is this where I'm supposed to rant and rave about DTG and say that I'll never run Railworks again? !**duh*!!
