no tracks are visible. Suggestions?

You need ScaleRail; ATSF tracks.

Many thanks. I hope that the freeware version will suffice . . . I should know in a few minutes.

It does. That's all you need.

Indeed it does work, Buzz. Thanks for the advice (which the route builder should have provided in the first place), but now I'm a bit nostalgic about the experience of watching trains levitate along above the ground amidst a landscape designed by a milk bottler.

It does say this in the simple description for the route in the file library:

"This route requires the following payware items (for extensively used scenery items):

* Allaboard scenery items by Rich Garber (eg. Colton & Northern Route);

* Foliage Pack No.1 by RSDL.

This Route uses ScaleRoad and Rural Landscapes, which are both available in freeware and payware versions from http://www.3dtrains.com.

All of the other freeware assets needed for this route have been packaged for Rail Simulator as a separate download."

Not sure what that "separate download" package thing is, but as for Marc's stuff, I think I've had all his RW items (including the hi res payware) for years now. It seems very commonly used. !!*ok*!!

And, yes, I do agree 1,000% that the readme files included with some of these third party DLC need to be written better. But, what 'cha gonner do, y'all? *!!wink!!*

And where do you see in that list "ScaleRail: ATSF tracks"?

Now that I've driven this route a bit, there are some things that I find interesting about it. To whit:

1) All the way from Leadville to Climax Mine, the F4 HUD notes a speed limit of 5 mph. That's just too slow for me, so I thought I'd exceed it and put up with the yellow nagger . . . which did not appear! Does this route exist in a time warp? The technique for eliminating that highly annoying little yellow banner should become public knowledge ASAP.

2) I enjoy trackside cameras (view 4) and this route features a lot of them, including a few that provide quite surrealistic images.

3) The Leadville - Climax Mine trek includes curves that drive the vomitometer absolutely crazy. !*YAAA*!

4) I'm still seeing milk bottles instead of switch stands (actually, those placeholders look more like skittles to me), so some asset is still missing, but at least I do have tracks (thanks to Krellnut).

That may be, but as an end user, it's not my job to fix someone else's route, whether freeware or not, whether WIP or not. I'll just delete Tennessee Pass and wait for the final version to come out.

Just an FYI, I had been in contact with the author of this thread, but have not heard from him for several months. He lives in the Ukraine, so who knows what has happened. !*don-know!*

When I noticed that a few days ago I got a bit worried. It's hard to make any assumptions, but for now I'm going to call the project vaporware. *!sad!*

I wish the creator the best.

John,
It's not vaporware since it is available. It's just not finished completely.
