On that note, in order for krellnut's sound pack to work with the additional DLC for this route (SD80MAC, GP38, SD40 & included railcars), is an update required or is that something that the end-user can do (ie do the new sound files need to be copied over to the new DLC railcars or are they associated to the route regardless of what railcars are in use?)

As of now I don't have the improved rail sounds on the new cars although I do on the coal cars that shipped with the route.

What new cars? The only one associated with the route is the coal cars. Anything else I believe should be working properly. The sound is a a function of the car not the route.

I mean the rail cars that the LHF GP38 and SD40 came with (hoppers, box cars etc) and the CSX hoppers that came with the SD80MAC. Krellnut's track sounds are not working for me on these rail cars, but they are working for me on the NS coal gons that came with the original route...

i supposed that track sound for cars (maybe not for all) is aliased to some common shared folder regardless of the route, isn't that true?

They are all aliased to the WJ Sound file. However because for reasons known only to them DTG has their cars put in all of the different route and locomotive folders instead of logically putting them in one place called freight and passenger. Therefore there needs to be a file put into each of these places to make them use Krellnut's excellent sounds. The route itself has nothing to do with the rolling stock sounds.

That would have been the logical thing to do, but that didn't happen. With every DLC with new cars, there is another new path to make up. Car sounds follow cars, not routes.

If there are some new cars included with the SD80MAC, and since I don't have it, someone will have to post the audio folder here. Then I can make an addon pack to include as a separate download with the sounds. I sure hope I don't get someone saying you can't give payware files away again. I need the paths to make my sounds work, why would I want Dovetail sounds. Are they better than mine?

These cars are in the SD40 long hood forward and the GP38 long hood forward, neither of which I purchased. The only one with the SD80 is the big coal hopper.

Look in the wagons folder in RSC\PennCoal\Audio\RailVehicles. Look in the long hood forward SD40 and GP38 if you have them. There are more freight cars there.

They did a fantastic job with details on things like sidewalks and road surfaces. Curbs, imperfections on road surfaces and crossing markings! I think they used 'decals' on the road surfaces, close to the track, where you are going to see them. Well done!

WTF with NS coal gons on this route?
I didn't notice it before, maybe it also happens on other routes with tight curves too

looks like some cars randomly don't restore straight position after tilting in curves

p.s. it doesn't happen with similar CSX gons

Restart the scenario, bet they will be sitting straight again. Another reason we all love 2014.

I am not sure but I think it's only these 100 ton coal cars that do this. Most of my playing is period stuff so I use older smaller hoppers and I sure would have noticed this. I sure have noticed it with these. Perhaps one of you physics phreaks can come up with a fix for this.
