I've spent WAY more on FSX than I have on TS, and that's not including what I've spent on hardware to run it. If TS is cheaper than train modeling (HO, etc), which it is, FSX is way cheaper than flying in RL, which I also do, although I sold my '46 Aeronca Chief about a year ago because the grass airstrip nearby that's been around since forever finally closed and I had no place to keep it.

Really?

Actually $1720.14 if you buy all of the DLC right now during the Steam Summer Sale! :D
Personally I can't even imagine being able to use all of the DLC and free Workshop scenarios with the amount of time I have to spend with this hobby.
Reality check: to compare the price of all of this DLC to another common form of entertainment, two movie tickets, popcorn, and a couple of soft drinks each weekend, the price is about the same on an annual basis. Hour for hour the DLC is a much better value if you enjoy this form of entertainment. Whatever floats your boat! **!!2cents!!**

You can get all dlc cheaper, if you get them like a steam’s gift from Russia. Now total price is 740 $. Write to me to PM, if you intrested. For example NEC is about 10 $.

I noticed that after a stretch of inactivity, Gary Dolzall (Elphaba's Workshop) has cranked out several new scenarios through the Steam Workshop. Realizing that Gary is one of the prime sources for DTG's North American scenarios I'm guessing that means he, Gary, has finished up the scenarios for the Norfolk Southern route and it should be about ready to be released. I'm hoping for a 4th of July release.

Hi Duncan:
Thanks for the mention, but actually many/most of the scenario that are packaged with DTG products are done by their internal group. I'm not doing the DTG scenario for the NS route; the most recent packaged scenario I did for DTG were for the Pacific Surfliner and CP Rockies routes.

Well in that case it's nice to see that DTG has learned how to make better American scenarios. !!*ok*!!

Still I'll be looking forward to whatever scenarios that you will have for the route on the workshop.
(at least I'm hoping you'll get a few out) *!lol!*

They must be getting close to releasing it if they have put the achievements up for it.

I think you could find that exact post somewhere in the Coaster thread about 6 months ago. The achievements historically mean nothing.

I'll buy it and take my chances that anything they do will be upgraded if by some chance the third party stuff is not backward compatible. In any event it looks too good to pass up.

So now we're going to have to put up with this lament every time a new DLC comes along? *!rolleyes!* *!rolleyes!* *!rolleyes!*

I suggest that loyal members of the chicken little brigade take another gander (hmm ... rooster?) at RSC's announcement, perhaps reading all the way to the bottom this time:
I can say that we are looking at making the next generation Train Simulator an optional upgrade so you can continue to use the current generation product with all of your current add-ons, whether or not you choose to upgrade to the next generation. So, if you are concerned that your machine might not be up to handling Unreal Engine 4, don't worry. - See more at: http://www.engine-driver.com/article/sh ... UrVrx.dpuf .
