Microsoft visual error

Every time i switch to a different engine or go to world editor mode and hit play, i get this error, and computer makes a bing noise and goes to my desktop. it show as this


Microsoft visual c++ Runtime libary

Runtime error!

My computer specs are: Processor-AMD Athlon II X4 640 3.0GHz Memory-4GB Graphics-Geforce Gtx 650 ti CPU-Athlon II X 4 CPUspeed- 640(3.0GHz) CPUmainfeature- 64 bit Quad-Core Processor

Do you know how to verify your local cache? I would do that first.

Delete the appcache folder in your Steam directory and see what that does. Shut down Steam after you have done this and restart as a new appcache folder will be created. Don't know whether this will fix your problem or not but worth a try.

You may have to reinstall Visual C from the actual Railworks installer folder.
It's found here.
Railworks/Install/vcredist_x86

Right click and run as administrator.

Some times it doesn't hurt to delete the "ClientRegistry.blob" folder. Steam has been updating a lot lately and sometimes creates issues when they do.

After trying your guys tips, Im still getting this Microsoft Visual Error. So could i try the Set Launch Options, like Logmate (im not very familiar with it), under steam railworks properties and run my game until it crashes. But i dont know what code to use, and how to read it when the crash happens.

Just do the logmate exe and get it going then launch RW. Let us know what it says when it stops which it will do when the game crashes. We can go from there.

I only started my game to the main menu and had logmate running and hit the desktop key, nothing crashed, i just check the logmate only. and under run time error tab and got this. I notice something Canadian Pacific Mountain Payware, but Idk.

Ok i played my route for a least 30mins and i hit editor and click to a different engine and it crashed, (happens most of the time i do this)

One of the errors is with CPMountain - Copy (3).bin. My guess is that you have duplicate files for a route that hasn't been edited, and that any scenarios for it have gotten confused. Remove the template and any routes/scenarios you've created with it.

Yes. Open Steam, go to Library> TS2014, right click, choose properties> DLC tab. Find the Canadian Passes route and un-check that box. Close Steam, then restart it. That should have uninstalled that route. Go back into TS2014> DLC, check that box again, then do a file verify.

Other way would be, with Steam not running, go into the Railworks file, find the route and delete the folder. When you restart Steam, do a File verify of TS2014.
