Route Backup?

Unread postby jonmorrie » Sat May 17, 2014 12:39 pm

What would be the best means of backing up a WIP route? I want to backup before the update Monday. If there is already a thread that explains this, please link it and delete this post. I hate duplicate posts as much as the next guy *!lol!*

You can use the Railworks Utilities Packager. Include your route and whatever assets you want backed up.

Or using RWTools go find your route pack it up and then save it somewhere safe. Or just go into your content file and copy and paste it somewhere.

Also don't forget about the built-in backup function in Railworks, which automatically saves a copy of any modified route/scenario files each time you press F2/save in an edit session. The backups are located in the folder "Steam...\Railworks\backups", sorted by date and route/scenario folders.

To enable this feature, go to your Steam games library, right click on Train Sim 14, select properties. In the properties window, click on Launch Options, and add "--enable-backups" (with the double-hyphen, without quotes). Next time you run RW the backups will be created.

Now, that's a useful piece of information! Thanks.
