i wonder if the track if the turn is too sharp. the track is superelevated there too. can you do something for me? can you run the select tool over that curve and the stretches of track going into and out of it and uncheck superelevation in the right flyout. if you get no more derailments then I need to see about getting Marc Nelson from 3dtrains to fix that because I cant get a sharper curve using the track rule I created for his tracks. I can with RSC/DTG's tracks. And im not about to replace all the track with that at this stage. Plus you might be the only one getting this issue, I havent heard anything from anyone on it yet. My beta testers had no issues either.

ian

I never derail at that curve either using 2 engines x 50 ANY cars and I even had AI go 35 around that curve with no issues.

Scenario to test Tacoma derailment (if happens)

SH SD70M required, double stacks are supplied with route

depending on some luck, I have derailment either immediately after start, or when passing first curve on mainline, or on second curve

so I added in the real city tunnel now and the retaining wall it goes with. I always wanted to put in the real thing now i'm convinced its seattle :) I have fixed up numerous things on the route to get it to look and feel better.

I added the tunnel
fixed all the switch stands
fixed the crossings
fixed any broken scenario caused by the new track arrangement and tunnel.
Swapped out any rolling stock that is non-default or rolling stock not from the route so that the scenarios can be run out of the box without searching.
moved bridges and things away from the tracks
still need to investigate the derailment on the 1 turn in tacoma. I never get a derailment.

I'll post this up tomorrow or Tuesday.

Ian

Thanks for the update. Did you try scenario with derailment?
Could it be an issue with particular rolling stock? (double stacks in this case)

Someone said it looks like youre missing trucks on your dbl stacks. Reinstall or manually install the rolling stock again.

That was me and I was informed that these cars must be run as a unit and I was just trying to hook up the middle car that has no trucks. All is well if you do it right although I have not gotten to where this derail takes place yet to see if it does it here. Busy weekend for us here.

yes these need to be run as a 3 part unit. Otherwise they won't work. C unit us supposed to not have trucks. Orient them ACB like it says in the read me. The shared bogies goes inward and flip the center car if they arent lining up over the center of the shared bogie.

I sure love it when OldProf's old sayings crop up again. Makes me feel appreciated. Thanks, Buzz.

I was wondering if this was fixed when you switched tunnels? The first 2 pic's has to do with the track on the way the track is jagged, the other 2 pics have to do with a concrete piller in the middle of the track. The pics below are on the space needle side of the tunnel and not the Amtrak side.
