How to do multiple seasons?

Unread postby Ericmopar » Sat Apr 19, 2014 1:00 am

I have a modified Castle Rock that I love, and it occurred to me, that I'd like to do some Winter and Summer texturing for the route, but I have no idea where to begin.
So, how does a person add winter textures for instance? !*don-know!*

As a starting point, try selecting "Winter" on the scenario flyout: the one that appears when you first open a scenario for editing. This is where you enter things like a description, start time, and so on. Since it's a flyout, you won't see it until you slide your mouse pointer to the upper-right edge of the screen; once it slides into view, click the pushpin in its upper-right corner to keep it visible while you enter text and make selections. As far as I know, all routes made or commissioned by RSC contain textures for all four seasons.

Double-click the Scenario Marker. Several choices down are selections for time, date, weather patterns, and the season. Suggest you consult some of the excellent scenario creation tutorials in this forum. They will literally walk you through the process.

Ahh. Thanks for the tips, but I already know how to make a scenario Winter, Summer etc.
My problem is that Castle Rock never came with any real winter assets, like snow on the ground. I just remembered, It's the actual texture sets for the route. They have to have the snow etc available for the particular seasons. nutz.

EI, not something I can do with the editor.

Thanks though, Eric.

You sure you can't go in there and assign it some other texture set?

Find the terrain texture in the correct texturing.bin (Assets folder). In the BaseWinterTextureName line add the path to the texture you want to use.
