I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours. Seriously, Buzz, I'm seeking advice from those who actually own this add-on. Herr Goltz of Virtual Railroads, who, oddly enough, does not own the add-on, is nevertheless trying to assist me by asking me to check for the presence of some files and make some tests. He writes, in one recent message, that in order to have the product on his computer he would have to buy a copy. Does that make sense?????

I do own it - if you want me to send anything, let me know.

Before I write anything else ::: *!embar*! *!embar*! *!embar*!

Why? At least two people, including the engine's designer at VirtualTrains, had told me that this engine's controls will not work on a computer on which a LUA program is installed. Since I've never even tried to write or edit LUA script, I just assumed that no such software existed on my dear machine. Then I started thinking (about time, eh? *!rolleyes!* ) and remembered that after seeing some LUA for TS2014 tutorials, I had downloaded and installed an editing program called SciTE.

Sure enough, once I'd eliminated every trace of that program, I discovered that I could indeed operate this advanced version of the BR143. *!!thnx!!* to those who provided advice, especially to Herr Maik Goltz at VirtualTrains. Just in case anyone else encounters this difficulty, here's Herr Goltz's explanation of what caused it:

As i said about SciTE it changes the global LUA_PATH variable that all LUA interpreters on the same system are using. So also the implemented LUA in TS will use that path. But that interpreter has a hardcoded path. In newer LUA version you can set the path to your needs within a script, but not in TS because that is a very old LUA implementation. If TS had LUA 5.2 instead of LUA 5.02 it would work with SciTE installed, but it doesn't have 5.2.

Once again, *!embar*! *!embar*! *!embar*!
