I'd be very surprised if there weren't an fps change when putting two instead of one! (unless you had a super-computer). What matters is whether the fps is acceptable or not. I know of people who've happily run five Connies at the same time (in close proximity). Of course, if there is a hit, you have the option to either settle for just one Connie and run on higher settings, or run two (or more) Connies on lower settings. Like everything in life, it's all about finding the right balance.

So far, I'm getting high fps even when there's steam and smoke coming out from every orifice, all lights blazing (with shadows from the headlight) and lots of scenery around.

Just like in the Connie, I've implemented the fps-saving function (remember, ctrl-shift-1 to hide a lot of rivets, nuts and bolts, plus you can turn off the shadows cast by the cab lights - ctrl-shift-S).

Doesn't that conflict with the "asynch key"? They are Ctrl-Shift-1 to 5

I've never used asynch keys. What do they do? I haven't noticed any conflict.

When you start RW with the " EnableAsyncKeys" command-line option, they allow you to speed up the time in the sim.
So that Ctrl-SHift-5 is five times normal time, and Ctrl-Shift-1 is normal time.

It may just become the longest thread here, and there's still more work to do.

Ah! I learnt something new today :D

I'll have to look for another combination ... ctrl-shift-something else.

Bear in mind I haven't put in any of the detailing on the tender tank, and the texturing is very basic, just enough to be able to export the model and try it out.
