I'm making good progress on this problem.
Quick and dirty fixes are working, now I'm cleaning up the dirty.
Also fixed the diesel exhaust which wasn't working.

I gave cleaning up the sound files a go with no luck. Definitely curious to see what you've done Chacal.

Here's a patch for fixing the RWA NW2.
Fixes the following issues:
- horn sound and bell sound absent;
- diesel exhaust absent;
- diesel exhaust not responsive to throttle setting;
- cab sounds absent;
- coupler and bogie sounds absent.

A lot of sounds are aliased to the "default" Kuju RailsimulatorUS SD40 sounds.
This was pretty much the norm at the time this engine was made.
You need the US Loco & Asset Pack DLC for these sounds to work, OR one of the many routes that contain the US assets.
Also make sure you have installed the latest version of the RWA Donationware package. It is RWA-Pack_TS2012.zip dated 03/28/2012, and NOT the old one named RWA_Modern-US-Freight.zip dated 09/18/2011.

This is my first attempt at packaging, if you have problems running the included installer you can just copy the "Assets" folder into your own "Railworks" folder, and let Windows overwrite them. Then clear the blueprint cache.

Please try this fix so I can upload it to the file library.

Did you clear the blueprint cache?
I forgot to say that in my post.

Good Morning:

Yes I cleared the cache. The only thing that I was missing before was the horn. I manually copied over the files and that is what I have now. If I reinstall the RWA-Pack_TS2012.zip dated 03/28/2012 then I loose the horn.

Hope that helps

I've got the same issue as Charlie - horns and bells now work, but missing engine body.

Make sure the engine GeoPcDx file from the original engine is still there in the repaint's folder. Seeing this often of late, I did it twice recently. *!embar*!

I get the same thing Chacal and mine was already working fine. With one exception. Norton quarantined the routesetup.exe file, said it was bad. Never had that happen before.

This is getting strange now. I put back the original engine bin files and still no textures. I thought I might just be able to keep the sound file fixes.

Ok I reinstalled the original package that was working fine for me from the get go and copied the patch sound folders over. I still have sounds but the textures are gone again. I did not copy the engine bin files over. So it is not them. Something in the sound files is stopping the textures from showing up. !!??

I tried only using your engine bin files as a test. Have textures and sounds but no exhaust.

Ok I couldn't take it anymore and had to go look and trial and error myself. The bell was referenced to the ES44, and the horn was referenced to the BAR NW2, the smoke emitter was referencing a wrong texture name. I fixed all of these and also added the icon screenshot thingy so the RWA NW2 shows in the selections menus. There are still sounds referenced to the Kuju SD40. The sander and some wheel flange noises. So if you have a version of RW with the old stuff your ok, if not you need the US asset package for those sounds. This package was made for RW3.

Please test me out. This is a RWP file. Use Utility program or install manually.

New patch is further down the forum.
