That's wrong, you should install the kit last.

Unfortunately no change.
Deleted both NW2 Kit and RWA.

Installed RWA donationware pack, then the NW2 kit.

No horn, no bell.

Hey Bob,
As a follow up, I just gave up. **!!bang!!**
I contacted Dick about this last summer.
He kicked it back to RWA, having sold the product out right.
I tried the "free-ware"version from
his web-site to see if that "patched" things. ..No Luck.
No worries, just happy to donate to great web-site. !!*ok*!!

I didn't give up yet. May take me a day or two as every time I open another file I find more references. It works for me, but I also have 90% of the Britkits payware stuff installed as well.

I'm doing the same and it's a mess.
Trying to tidy it up so that the RWA pack is self-contained.

I am not sure what you are talking about it being a mess. It works just fine for me and always has since the day I downloaded it.

If you look at the various control files they point at Britkits/BAR and a few other places as opposed to RailWorksAmerica. In some cases, where it does point to RailWorksAmerica, the directory structure is incorrect.

Do you guys have the RW2 in the audio files? They are there in mine and all the sounds referred to work correctly. I don't have any Brit kit stuff checked so it shouldn't be seeing anything there.

I have a NW2 folder in the audio.
I don't have the BAR files.
In the sound blueprints, there are references to Britkits/BAR, to KUJU/EMD (the NW2 repaint kit I guess) to SteelWorks, to the Kuju SD40-2 and others.
Some of them are wrong.

Well I don't know what they would be looking at. None of the sounds I hear have anything to do with the SD40 and I'm not going to drill into the sound files. It for darn sure isn't the horn and I doubt if it's the bell that people seem to be complaining about.

I give up for tonight.
RW sound problems always drive me crazy.
It looks so simple and you can't find the problem but it never works.

But don't you think if you paid $10.00 it should work? We have come to expect that with RSC and a patch coming sometime. In my opinion, If you are going to have donationware, it should work.

JW you can have your $10 back if your that dissatisfied. No problem here with that. What you have to realize is I took this site over and everything is as it was. The donationware stuff was already here. I did not just get it. I assumed everything was in order as there were no problems that I know of in the passed. And to boot several of us are working on it to see what is wrong for those of you who can not get it to work. I just installed it for the first time last week and have not had 1 single problem that you have with it or anyone else that is having the problems. It works for some and not others. How do you figure that out? What is different from my system than yours? Have some patience, we are working on it.

Didn't mean to ruffle feathers, I do not want a refund, I was thinking of others that did, We as a group have proven to be better that RSC when it comes to quality products that work. It has been months since the heritage units bells have not worked, and still no solution from RSC.
