Some people apparently have a lot of time on their hands. Sorry, I don't remember the particulars or what the product was. Anyway, all the guy wanted to do was pay tribute to a legendary model railroader, but instead he had to rename the product and rebuild his web site.
It's a strange thing but there are several areas where you need to tread lightly when our hobby interfaces with the model railroad division. Kalmbach is a good example, very protective of anything they do and while I have seen a "Hungry Horse" route produced in one of the other sims I've always been a bit cagey about using any of their track plans to expand into a virtual route. That also goes for layouts like the V&O or the Allegheny Midland, would be lovely to do but not if it means getting sued. :) The County Gate etc. fictional extensions to the old UK Lynton & Barnstaple are another example - when I chatted to the guy responsible about the possibility of using the idea for a virtual railway, he didn't rule it out but I got the impression it all would have had to be done in a certain way and in line with their creative story. So that went out the window.
Anyhow back on topic, new route looks very good and one which will be well worth a look when it's done.
