Just putting in a little plug for ya Bob.
No thanks. My name is around here and there enough. I do not want the limelight. You guys deserve that.

First formed in 1907 by the Alanton Mining Company, it was built starting from the lake shore city of Whelan where a car ferry owned by Pere Marquette (Number 41- City of Midland) made the first drop of a fleet of 3 2-8-0 Consolidations built with small drive wheels specifically for the heavy iron ore that was discovered in Rockville. Construction of the line began with more and more shipments of steel rail, and the ties coming from timber along the surveyed route being cut down and processed by a tie plant in Alanton. Finally they reached the small logging town of Rockville, and proceeded just South West to the planned open pit mine in the bitter winter of 1908.
Fast forward to the year 1956 and the RW&A has long since got rid of all but one of the consolidations, and run with a strictly ALCO roster to haul ore. RS-1s comprised the first of the dieselization effort, and now followed by brand new RS11s. The RW&A also has a fleet of 4 heavy weight cars (1 RPO per set), that are shuttled by either the road's two Doodlebugs or an RS-1 equipped with steam heat.
