Trains and Wagons won't load

Unread postby Yikesapillow » Sun Dec 15, 2013 10:00 pm

Hi, I'm pretty new to this game and have just figured out how to install some mods but I've encountered a problem here, I installed a CN train I've just downloaded on here and it shows me this when I create a consist on quick drive:

A coupling issue and the wagon/train images won't load, anyone have a solution? (All the other train images and coupling work because they are add-ons)

I think not all rolling stock can be used in the consist builder. They need some specific data on their blueprint.
You can use them in the scenario editor: create a freeroam scenario, put an engine and some wagons, set a destination, and go.

OK, I see the rolling stock shows in the Consist list to the left. But there is no pic in the preview window to the right. I find it may take a while for the image to show in that preview window. If that's not there, it may be a problem with the repaint / rolling stock that was downloaded then installed. Did you clear the blueprint cache after you installed the rolling stock? Does it show up anywhere else, like in a free roam? What engine are you using? Does it show up?

Thanks for the replies! The engine is a CN SD60 downloaded off here and it doesn't show up anywhere but on the quick drive menu. I did not clear the blueprint cache as I do not know how to do so. Any help on that?

To clear the cache, start TS2014. as soon as you get to the main menu, click on Settings (upper right hand of the screen) go to Tools, Clear Cache. You may get an error message once the game restarts, just click OK then start the game manually.

I'm wondering if this is an entire model, or if it's just a repaint of the default SD60? The readme file with the DLC should say what if anything else is needed.

I've find out the problem for the SD60, missing some files like you said. But for the CN passenger, box and hopper car, even a CN F7 passenger train, they are .rwp files that I used utilities to install them with.

Again, if the "stuff" you have downloaded is just a repaint, they will all need to have the default rolling stock already installed. Any time you download anything from the file library, it's necessary to read the accompanying files to see all that's required. I learned this the hard way, chased my tail in circles quite a few times before I got things right. *!!wink!!*
