With wood ties? Much more period! I would love it.

Modern concrete and wood, I'm afraid. I suppose it would be easy enough to give users a choice during the install. :D

Looks great! Have you added more track roughness to your version? It will be great to have bridge track on the bridges now.

Would also love to have the correct bridge over Java Creek.

I thought the track roughness felt fine for a modern class 1. Do you think it needs more?

No promises, but do you have pictures?

Anyway, one thing I thought was needed was a few of these:

It still needs to be tweaked some, but it looks good to me. :D

There are 5 or 6 good pictures on the Rail Pictures (www.railpictures.net) site. If you plug in the word Java they should come up.

My experiences for mainline track should be that the track roughness be set to 65 at least. Sidings should be 95, and Non main track (think Kalispell) would be 150.

Really? I thought the upper limit on rough track was 100 (as in percentage). Values of 0~99 I believe are valid, but perhaps the newer locos are set up too tight? Using the old default Dash-9 on a value of 20~30 and you get sea sick, but my F7 seems to like it. However, I've found that newer locos tend to ride glass smooth over everything else, which IMO, isn't very realistic.

Nevertheless, I can set basic line uneveness, but I'm not sure I want to select and change 500+ miles of track (mainline, sidings, etc.), only to find I goofed and have to change. Too much room for error and interpretation. !**duh*!!

There's no cap to the roughness. I posted a video of a demonstation of it set to 3000 and boy; I wouldn't run in the cab. LOL

Good to know, and thanks for the correction. I'll tinker with the settings and see what develops. :D

Well Marc I'll say this...I'm sure there is interest. But I wouldn't build it based on our interest. Cuz lots of interest doesn't necessarily translate to lots of sales.

Here's my advice to you: Take potential revenue out of the equation first. Then ask if you personally want a ScaleRail version of Marias Pass for yourself even if you were not to share it with others at all. If the answer is yes, then do it. Then it's a personal labor of love, with potential sales of it simply being a side benefit bonus.

If the answer is no, then you just need to look at sales of PAST ScaleRail routes and see if the effort is worth doing on future routes.

I'd say that Scale Railing any REAL LIFE route in the USA that RSC makes is a pretty good risk on your part. Their USA routes usually end up selling well and have the added benefit of usually being included in a future editions of Railworks like Cajon Pass (2012), Sherman Hill (2013) and Donner Pass (2014) were. That way when new people to Railworks buy their first edition, it's added more built-in potential customers.

It's either gonna be Marias Pass or Pacific Surfliner as the likely included USA route in Railworks 2015. ScaleRailing Marias Pass would be a way of hedging your bets since you already did Surfliner. !!howdy!!

Marc, I'm a bit confused. Your OP shows engines and not much rail.
What are the advantages of a SR Marias Pass route over the regular one?
