Hi Michael, you only have to copy the XML and rename to reference for other wagons. The XML will look for the sounds in the Kuju folder. No need to copy and paste sound files anywhere else. I did respond to your PM, but in case you didn't get it, yes both my parents are German, and I'm really glad you and everyone else are enjoying the new sounds.

Not entirely sure I have this straight...for example, in the third party IHH/audio/Wagons assets folder there's only one proxyxml file, 'wagon.proxyxml.' To access the sounds, which of the three in the selected level of the Volume Changes folder should I rename 'wagon.proxyxml' and replace the one in the IHH folder with? Or does it matter?

Thanks!

Well I finally installed this pack, and I love it! I love to watch the train pass through on the 4 or 8 view. :D

Hey, if y'all get a chance, y'all should use the new GP38-2 sounds WITH the new freight car sound, it's awesome! :D

Hm...I looked at that GP38 pack, but I have no idea what to do with it. The readme says:

3. Open up Assets folder.
4. Open up JCornell folder.
5. Go to; EMD\Audio\Railnetwork\Coupling...etc.

Okay, but the only folder in the JCornell\EMD folder is 'RailVehicles,' no 'Audio' folder at all. Did I lose something somewhere?

The only difference between the wagon, cement, and coal is that the cement & coal files have a product loading audio section. You could copy any one of them with the same result. For example, if you used the cement XML for a double stack car, the cement loading part of the XML would never be used, with no consequences. The steps are for volume changes only. :D

To Gunloon, you should have a audio folder in the GP-38 folder, if you don't, you will have to do a new install.

Thanks, I had it in my mind that it was in there since I had the JCornell folder. A few minutes poking around on TrainSim located the original Justin Cornell GP38, 'bnsf38.zip.' Installed now and I'll proceed with the sound pack, thanks!

Wow...another fine sound job, I just put together a GP-38 and a bunch of cars as Shortliner suggested. Most impressive!

Yeah I got your PM.
Anyway some third party or Railworks DLC have their own custom sounds. I always thought you'll need to copy all the soundfiles into the audiofolder? Not? OK. This makes it much easier.
Thanks again for the great sounds. !*brav*! !*cheers*!

I was kind of interested in the GP38 sounds so i downloaded the freeware model of the GP38 from Jointedrail.com What I got was a single 26.8 CDP file...is this normal? I dont know what folder to drop this file in since there was no readme that came with the download..any help would be nice.

Not too familiar with that site but if the locations Walter specified aren't what you're seeing (as was my case) or if you have misgivings, it's probably not the right thing. Go over to TrainSim and grab the original Justin Cornell GP38, 'bnsf38.zip.' Worked fine for me, and you can get the nice new P&LE skin for it as of today thanks to Mike Guiducci adding it to the rolling stock library.

Well thank you for all your help so far..im making progress. I have properly installed Justin Cornells version of the GP38. I am now onto the step of installing the new engine sounds for the GP38 put out by Walter Jaeschke. Everything was going fine until i got to 8th step in the readme file(16-645E_R folder) The download never came with this folder. It came with three folders and a readme: Coupling folder,Simulation Folder and These items go i... folder. Is this normal am i missing something im kind of confused. Also just to make sure It was not a bad download i downloaded again and it looks the same.

Yep, the contents of the 'These items go into the 16-645E_R folder' folder get copied and pasted into the C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\JCornell\EMD\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\16-645E_R folder. That downloaded folder contains a bunch of .wavs, .davs, and some binary and xml files, yes? He was just saving typing by omitting the 'These items go into the...' part in the readme by saying 'Open up 16-645E_R folder, and drop the contents from the supplied 16-645E_R folder into it. When asked to overwrite, click yes and your done.' I expect.
