New rolling stock

Unread postby buzz456 » Mon Sep 16, 2013 2:10 pm

In another thread one of our members mentioned additional rolling stock. I feel like other than special use cars everything is kind of out there but I may be real wrong here.
What stuff is not out there that you folks would like to see? Pictures encouraged here.

I think the main ones we are missing are spine cars, articulated and singles. Articulated stack cars. Tofc single flats. There is also at least one type of common covered hopper not available. Modern passenger stock is also lacking.
I'm at work so no time to post links to pictures just now.

Generally we need still more freight cars that aren't MSTS conversions but new and crisp Railworks models that suit the routes available: PRR, SP, BN, ATSF, UP, BNSF.
Horseshoe Curve default car selection is pathetic and more recent routes only slightly better.
Standard passenger cars, either heavyweight or steamlined, for use in pool service.
Caboose with tail end markers/lights that pop up automatically
One and the same buckeye coupler for all freight cars with connecting brake hoses that doesn't get pulled out of its socket.

Specifically my wishes: more late steam/early diesel freight car models of general/standard AAR designs
2 and 3 bay hoppers, smooth or composite or outside braced, with peaked or radial ends that were common in the 40's till 60's on coal hauling roads.
a few more gondola's, either straight side or fishbelly
a few more flatcars of different lenghts, either straight side or fishbelly
All cars in kit form, with different brakewheels, roofwalks, boxcar doors/ends. You'd be amazed over the prototype variations in these parts.
All cars with repainting kit and ready to run auto numbering decals

In modern cars, working Hydracushion underframes with their extended couplers.

Don't want much do you?

The couplers are available right now and have been for a long time.

I hope Santa comes early and is generous this year. !*YAAA*!

Buzz, we have had this discussion over the couplers before. I was amazed that with the SD45 high hoods came the n-th set of couplers. Yet again different looking and acting and poorly QC'd as always.
When TS2014 time arrives, I'll rename my Railworks 2013 folder and I'll let Steam spool in the whole 54 GB of DLC afresh and will then have to copy my preferred couplers in perhaps three dozen folders by now.
I have complained to RSC a couple of times, but they just don't seem to care about fixing this long standing issue once and for all.
Those different coupler characteristics do act up in COARW and other scenarios with 100 car trains set "loaded" with realistic HP/ton characteristics and corresponding train handling. At least I am getting an uncanny number of derailments here, there and everywhere over the COARW with those 14000 ton trains. I don't know if the route, trackrule, locos, cars or couplers are at fault. Trains run at at steady 25 MpH for minutes and then suddenly take off into space. With TS2013 total lack of sensible logging or error messaging it is just a game of trial and error to find the cause. !*hp*!

Problem is I cant find the original since it's in Chinese I have no idea who made these but I will gladly share if the site admins think its ok it was freeware when I downloaded them.
