Amtrak Wolverine Official Thread (With pictures)

Unread postby Amtrak351 » Mon Jul 22, 2013 2:43 pm

Since the guy at Trainsim.com stop working on his route, I a'm going to start my own. It will be the same route (Amtrak Wolverine from Kalamazoo to Chicago). The only thing I need so far is the BO Tower and a Grand Elk SD40-2 Repaint.

GDLK SD40? Which one?!!!! Remember, they have SO many variations of Geeps and SD's. You might want Horizon Coaches as well. Also, it almost seems like a good idea to merge the route with imnew's NS Chicago Line Route to save you some work from Chesterton to Blue Island.

From my knowledge there is no GP40-2LW so that's out of the picture and we don't have a GP38-3, GP35M. Just sticking with the SD40-2 seemed like a better thing and I was hoping some one was working a some Horizon cars and maybe some updated amfleets. If Imnew want to merge the routes than it fine with me.

Not in any way to tell you what to do but you get the route done and the rolling stock will get made. The will to make routes is a lot less in general than rolling stock and a lot more work.

How do you get the track to crossover and how do you get rid of the wire on the tracks.

I think the wire is there because you chose an electrified track.

Your best bet on learning something, ( route building/track laying), is to do a search on youtube and watch some tutorials. Trust me. I learned a heck of a lot that way. *!!wink!!*

Saw this thread last night, and thought that looks like a fun little building to model. And being that I had a couple of hours to kill today I made this. If you want to use it I'll finish it up and get it over to you.

ok I'll get it finished up here in the next day or so.

Now the real question, how beat up do you want it? I found one pic of this tower from the 50/60's and it was in fairly good shape back then, and then there are the pics in it's current shape. I can do either version for you.
