Just something I had noticed when I went into my steam library and right clicked railworks to check on all my DLC the GP38 was missing from the list. So this is looking like something has gone wrong at steam's end. I have e-mailed steam pointing this out.

I can't see how this bandwidth notion applies to my situation, since I ordered 4 DLC packages at once and received 3 of them immediately, including the Marias Pass and Portsmouth Direct routes, which are quite large, and the "Ludmilla" engine; only the AT&N Consolidation failed to download. Other messages in this thread report other download failures related to this same product when ordered all by itself; a one-log logjam doesn't strike me as likely.

Well, of course all of us are purely speculating as to what the issue might be, but I can say with almost absolute certainty that the failure of the downloads of the aforementioned assets is related to the extremely high volume of traffic caused by the summer sale. These same assets were downloading without issue before the sale began. Case in point, many people, myself included, could not even access the Steam website during the past several days.

As to how this heavy traffic could affect one asset and not others? Several ways, and again just pure speculation on my part, but here's one example. Not all of the assets are stored on the same HDD, most likely not even on the same EIA rack of HDDs, or for that matter, in the same plant and facility! During the heavy demand a disk failure on a MOM server can cause database corruption that will leave some, but not all HDDs in the network inaccessible. If that's not enough, heavy sales volume would also give pause to the IT engineering manager to ponder the cost benefit analysis of taking the necessary downtime for the HDD swap out and subsequent database rebuild verses the potential lost sales volume of taking the rest of the network offline for the repair. The IT managers head may be on the chopping block if they had to explain that they decided to forego selling 10,000 copies an hour of Far Cry so a few dozen people could download their locomotive. **!!2cents!!**

I wouldn't be so quick to say that Buzz. Remember the Dash 9 incident? That was a combination of Steam and RSC and only affected some, not all people.

BTW I have the 38 problem as well.

I actually purchased the GP before the sale, but I have since lost it after steam uninstalled TS2013 behind my back and forced me to waste my Saturday reinstalling.

Glad I am not alone with lots of missing purchases. Sent a ticket into Steam and will just sit tight. Funny how it is US stuff that is impacted - my UK stock seems to have downloaded OK.

I just saw a grey message window while playing Railworks that my Alco RS11 was delivered and wether I would like to view its scenarios. Was too late to take a screenshot as I have never seen such a message before.

So it seems that Valvecorp/Steam is finally delivering bought assets.

After examining the 225 MB download using Windows Explorer it seems the Connie was also downloaded.

Since many of you are on different Steam servers, your mileage may vary. Overhere in The Netherlands everything is sweet. Having been busy with COARW over the weekend I haven't even noticed I didn't get the purchased assets straight away.

I've seen messages from other people on the Steam forum, from less than an hour ago, saying that the DLC have (finally!) been downloaded :D !!*ok*!!

Here's the text of an e-mail message I received today:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for contacting the Railsimulator.com customer support, your inquiry has been logged with a member of our dedicated customer support team.

There are a small number of items that Steam appear to be having problems with delivering at the moment,

Please accept our heartfelt apologies about this, we sincerely regret if this has caused you any inconvenience, as soon as there is a satisfactory outcome,
I will inform you via email,

The Items that are affected are:
The AT&N Consolidation,
The BNSF GP38-2,
The PRR Alco RS11,

...

Regards

Miles,

Miles Cavendish,

Rail Simulator Support

While I find "Miles Cavendish" a somewhat improbable name and "Miles, Miles Cavendish" even more so, I now feel as though I know more than I knew yesterday and certainly more than I do after an entire day of dealing with the IRS.

And, by gosh and by golly, I just looked at my Manuals folder and the one for the Smokebox Lima 2-8-0 etc. is there! If you don't hear from me again in this thread, you'll know I'm trying to learn how to drive MRENNIE's creation.

Excellent!

I recommend printing the manual - you're probably going to need to refer to it often at first (and it's handy to have the transcript of the tutorial scenario's pop-up messages) :D

I think I'm getting the Connie right now. Either that, or an update

Good Morning:

Still nothing here. Did you have to verify files to get it to download.

Thanks
