Interesting update: I just checked my support ticket again (assuming there wouldnt be anything new, on the weekend), but now the response from Steam is gone. Its just my question again. So, maybe they're 'revising their position' on who's to blame? At the least, it suggests they're actively working on the issue. Now the RS11 and 2-8-0 once again show that I 'already own them' on the product pages.

I'm being optimistic....progress?! *!rolleyes!* Even so it will probably be another week before they figure out how to fix the issue, if previous response times are a guide. There are a lot of people reporting this issue, so I'm sure its becoming a high priority for them.

I feel bad for you guys buying the GP38. I hope it's not a rip off. Just hope everything will work out. *!sad!*

Now that is downright unfair. RSC has worked through every download problem they ran into. I have never heard of anyone getting ripped off.

Yes, lot of people have contacted them about it. I for one contact Matt on Skype whenever I see a message on the forums reporting another problem, and I know that RSC check the forums too, from time to time.

Just adding one more example to the pool. I purchased the GP-38 and RS11 and neither have downloaded. I'm sure they will in time and I'm just planning on waiting it out awhile. I think tinkering around with cache verifications and such just creates more problems. This is simply an issue of bandwidth volume affecting the downloads. Is it an ideal situation from a customer service standpoint? No, but as the old saying goes: "you get what you pay for". When there's a big sale at a store, you expect to stand in line longer than usual. *!rolleyes!*

What I don't quite understand is them putting everything on sale not just the RW stuff if their servers can't handle the traffic. Oh well I guess patience is a virtue.

You would think that staggering the sale categories, maybe by game genre, would help lighten the load some and avoid annoying their customers! !!*ok*!!

I can't see how this bandwidth notion applies to my situation, since I ordered 4 DLC packages at once and received 3 of them immediately, including the Marias Pass and Portsmouth Direct routes, which are quite large, and the "Ludmilla" engine; only the AT&N Consolidation failed to download. Other messages in this thread report other download failures related to this same product when ordered all by itself; a one-log logjam doesn't strike me as likely.

Looks to me more like another error in the Steam database. Could it be the "&" in AT&N, and the "-" in GP-38 and "RS-11"?

If those special characters are the cause then the SP GS-4, BNSF SD40-2, SD40-2 Independence, SP&S E-1 Northern, and NKP S-2 Berkshire should have the same issue, yes?

It sounds more like the files for the AT&N, GP-38, and RS-11 did not get distributed properly between the download regions.

I'm having trouble getting the GP38 to download and have raised a ticket with steam. So far no reply from them or RSC but I guess they are looking into it due to the e-mails they have had from others.

Just after I posted my last comment I got a e-mail from steam asking me to try something. Maybe it will work.

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

Please exit Steam and go to the folder called C:\Program Files\Steam\ (this is the default location for a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).

Delete all of the files in this folder except:

- Steamapps and Userdata folders

- Steam.exe (this file is listed as an application and features the black and white Steam logo)

Restart your computer.

Then, launch Steam.exe from within the Steam installation folder, and not from a pre-existing shortcut.

With Steam running, re-test the original issue.

Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games.

If the issue persists, make sure your network is optimized for Steam:

I seriously doubt that the problem is on your end since this problem seems to be isolated to a couple of assets but let us know if this does anything.
