One of four DLC purchases not delivered

Unread postby OldProf » Thu Jul 11, 2013 8:10 pm

Taking advantage of the summer sale, I bought 4 DLC packages. One of them, the Consolidation, did not download: no engine, no manual, nothing. I performed a cache verification, but the package is still not there. I've sent a message to Steam (not as easy to do as it used to be!), but I thought it worth while to ask whether anyone else on the forum has had trouble with the installation of this package.

There was just a post from someone else in the General Discussion section (topic about Steam Sale) with the same issue, not getting his DLC. Steam servers are really swamped, you could be in a queue waiting for that download. I have to wait quite a while to even get to the store page at all! !*not-ok*!

Same problem here with the RS11.
It will get there eventually when traffic ebbs away.

I've heard from one other person who's had the same problem with the Consolidation. but I also heard from another who successfully downloaded it, so it's just the luck of the draw (and where you are in the queue, perhaps).

Good Morning:

Same problem here, bought the GP38, NKP S-2 Class Berkshire and the SP&S E-1 Class Northern. The bad part is that when I start the sim it says that they are available but nothing happens when I try to use them.

I would think that overnight Steam should have caught up with DLC. But a lot of the games on sale are really huge downloads so could be tying up servers.

One of you more adventurous types could try a verify (someone who won't lose a lot of mods) I did get all my DLC but wasn't really much. Marias, Big Boy and SD45.

RSC know about the problem and they're communicating with Valve Steam about it.

Thanks for joining me in the misery loves company department. One odd thing is that the AT&N Consolidation is listed on my downloadable content page under "Train Simulator 2013 - Properties" and its picture shows up on my "Collection" page in the game, but when I click on the picture and then click on Select, nothing happens. I've received the usual "courtesy" message from Steam, but nothing else yet. I'm sure that this will get fixed, but it makes me think that ordering DLC packages one at a time would be a better idea than as a group. Caveat emptor.

This exact same thing happened a while ago, and it happened to the Consolidation as well as a few other items. Paranoid? Me? Who said that?

Tom,
It is the only D/L that I have ordered so far and I have the same situation. It's there in picture but not in fact. Patiently waiting.
!*cheers*!

Since Steam sends out the "thank you for your purchase" e-mails, I complained to them first, but they immediately (well, after a day) denied all responsibility and referred me to Railworks. I just sent RW a message about this issue, in which I quoted the entire "thank you" message from Steam. While I am not one of the chronic gripers about Steam, events like this certainly do make me think that RW needs to crack the whip a bit more often.

I'll keep you posted ... !*don-know!*

I just wish that RSC would have their own downloads and not depend on Steam all that time.

Steam has been the culprit of problems 60-70% of the time!!
