There's a question I've been trying to find an answer for for a couple of days but I can't seem to find it. So, I thought here would be a good place to ask it. I've been running across references to a plug-in for Paint Shop Pro that apparently allows one to work with .dds formats. Any searching I've done points me to the nvidia website where I can find a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop but nothing apparent for PSP. Yet the one example of it being used shows it being used with PSP. Can anyone enlighten me as to what this plug-in is?

As I understand it the nVidia plugin only works on some versions of PSP ??

dmalder - went the same route exactly.

The Photoshop plug-in works with PSP.

Do this.....

1. Download the file called Photoshop_Plugins_8.23.1101.1715.exe (the first download file at the bottom of the Nvidia page).
2. Install - be carefull - the file behaves like it has hung and sits around doing nothing for ages. It will come right though.
3. You are then asked to choose a base directory - choose Paintshop. If you do anything else the installation exis and you have to start (and wait) all over again.
4. Start PSP and (I do not what version you have) go the Help Menu and look up plug-ins as to how to initiate them. The lastest version - go FILE, PREFERENCES, FILE LOCATIONS, PLUG-INS.
5. The browse to (ADD button) C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2\Plug-Ins (if you have a standard installation) and add this directory.
6. Restart PSP, load a file and you will see that you now have the option to SAVE AS a D3d, DDS file. A window then comes up with options - which at this stage I do not understand! There is a read-me help file for installed under your programs.
7. IF you check your plug-ins under EFFECTS (where your filters are) you will also see there is a new Nvidia Plug-in Filter to play with.

Thank you for all your help. I will try this and as soon as I can I'll let you know if it works on my system. It looks straightforward enough.
