S-2 Bershire texture tweaking

Unread postby ArcticCatZRT » Fri Sep 02, 2011 3:14 pm

Hello to everyone,

I have had the G-Trax Berkshires for a while, the berks is my favorite steam locomotive of all time. The textures though bother me, they are very shiny, I would like to work with them to make the paint look flat. Is there anyway to tweak the texture so they lose this look?

Also is there anyway to work with the textures so that they are "darker" almost like a dirty look, in other words, to make the texture darker, or a tint of black? I know to get a actually dirty look I have to edit the textures them selves, but RW-Tools doesn't like to open the tender file.

Thanks for anyone's and everyone's help!

Yes, darken the alpha channel, it will make the paint both less shiny as that's it's direct job, and also darker because you've lost a lot of the extra colour from the environment.

Use RSBintool to open/save the textures, it will read & write dds files you can edit.
