Help with auto number system

Unread postby glenn68 » Fri Aug 05, 2011 12:16 pm

Good Afternoon,
I am making a repaint of J Cornel's GP38-2 in Monongahela railroad paint sceme. I am about 75 percent completed but ran into a problem.
The road number on the side of the cab actually go below the cab on the equipment doors and the Monongahela logo is on the cab below the window.
How do I move the numbers and still have auto numbers working to the equipment doors?
I have attached a real picture for reference.

Thanks,
Glenn

You can´t, the numbers are part of the 3d mesh and you can´t move it.

Can I disable the auto number and add my own?

Yes.

The slightly harder way is to alpha out the cab numbers in the number textures.

Or the easier way is in the numbering dcsv file, just put 1 in place of the numbers. Of course this will also disable the numberboards.

Either way, you'll have to paint the number onto your locomotive which means making multiple versions of it.

That is fine on the multiple repaints. The Monongahela only had 5 GP38's. Right now my unit only has the rough repaint and looks bad with the green BNSF road numbers running through the Monongahela logo.
