G-Trax ALCo PA Numberboard Issue

Unread postby PullmanCar » Tue Jun 30, 2026 6:28 pm

Hello,

I have recently reskinned some ALCo PAs, and with America 250 coming, I thought I would do one as the original Freedom Train PA, No. 1776. I have edited the New Haven PA, however when I try to edit the number files to remove the white digits from the front (1776 had no front digits), it wipes the numberboards and turned the digits solid white. I have even tried painting what I thought was the numberboard underside black, and it stays luminescent white.
I open the files in RSBinTools and then go to Photoshop as a .DDS file.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If I understand right you have you need to paint the alpha white and the foreground blue.

That is correct. I have since realised since 1776 was a one-of-one unit, I could just put a static decal over it, which seems to have solved the issue.
