How to Colorize?

Unread postby harryadkins » Fri May 20, 2011 5:12 pm

I am doing some photo reskins for Railworks. When I try to recolor the car ends, the colors are not right. For example, one of my models is a Southern Railway 50ft boxcar. It's sides are R:179, Green:142, and Blue:134 with Hue:7, Sat:58 and Light:157. However, when I attempt to colorize with the Hue/Sat settings, the color is way too dark. I also tried adjusting Hue/Sat/Light with the same results.

Some tutorials suggest manually adjusting the Hue, but I haven't been able to come close. Can someone point me to a good tutorial for Paint Shop Pro?

Car ends are hard to do because of the lighting in RW. If you have a good color on the sides, transfer it to the end and just use the brightness/contrast tool. It will wash out as you increase the brightness, then compensate with the contrast as needed.
