Very cool!

By the way, how did you control time and space to post this in the future? My current time is 1:46 PM yet this was posted at 2:04 PM.

I'm clueless as my posting was indeed at 5:04 pm from Montreal, thus Eastern Std. time (Oh! we change to winter time on Saturday at 2AM!!!!!!)

I always knew that Montreal was a city ahead of its time + Blade Runner 2049 !*roll-laugh*!

Glad you enjoy these TOFCs, Bernard

Thanks. This is the result of a combined effort with Howard Samarin (aka CNWfan). A while back I made a request for anyone that could make a tanker semi and he had the kindness to respond. He is learning Blender and wanted to try simple items - but from his wonderful creation this hobby may have a superb contribuor soon. I researched on trailer parts and I supplied very basic dimensions to Howard and his firt cut was a perfect fit - that's talent !!howdy!! It could have been a generic ladder, but Howard added braces with bolt heads - I loved it!

My proposal to do a step-platform to make a simple box van unto a bulk carrier, thus adding visual effect to long TOFC consist was further rewarded by his second creation. I'm just the artist and Child creator. These trailer parts are stored in a unique folder, therefore available as wished or wanted; and we are working on a new trailer part which is, for now, a little secret !*don-know!*

Howard and I shared many emails and the experience is quite rewarding, therefore my many thanks to Howard for his talent and his sharing. Hope this collaboration gives appreciated results to our simmer community - Keep on Railing. !*YAAA*!

It's been a really good collaboration effort between Bernard and myself. He brings his excellent artistic repainting skills to the table, and I try to supplement the repaints with child objects. I am still learning Blender, and working on projects like this pushes me to produce the best model that I can... knowing that it will be released to the community. Anyways, we'll keep plugging away on our end, and more to come!

Are you using the TOFC from the Feather River route?

Harry,

Both, mainly the TOFC created by GreatNortherner as I have his blessing to distribute the .geopcdx file, thus eliminiting lots of file duplication. If not, for each trailer I would have to create a unique folder with all the textures while only the main trailer file is the changing one - (very similar to what Buzz is forced to do with each new Gunderson repaint). Not very space or computing efficient!

Both, easy with Feather River 89ft. flatbeds, thus a twin-trailer. Each trailer is a child object and one has to tweak the position matrix (16 parameters) to properly seat each trailer on the fixed trailer hitch. At least the child concept is quite ingenious for placing any 3D model (part or whole) on the railcar as on a locomotive. As a chalenge, I propose to place one of my semi-trailer on a Gunderson Well car - just to defy purists !*hp*!

Hope that it answers your !**conf**! ,

I've seen pics of a trailer on a Gunderson. There's a prototype for everything.
