CNW Font mystery - HELP Wanted

Unread postby QcRail » Sat Oct 21, 2017 9:28 am

Hi All,

Believe it or not I have spent over 5 hours searching in various font or graphic sites and I never came close to find the script font for «Famous for ... Freight Service» as shown on the image and reworked from a perspective.

ANY IDEAS ?????

Any suggestion would be highly appreciated to find the actual font or an acceptable substitute.

Thanks, QcRail

Get in touch with Pete Willard over at http://railsimstuff.com/. He has a bunch of CNW stuff and if he doesn't have exactly what you want I bet he can at least steer you to the correct font.

I used an online font finder before when i was stuck.
You just put a sample letter in the software and it finds the closest to it.

Likely an in-house script - something you may need to redraw by hand.
Cheers!

Hack , you are quite right. Did a lot of research - nada! thus I did take a clean up and redraw approach - tedious, but, I believe not too bad.

The top version is a second WW and post from a photograph and the bottom version is a clean-up and redraw in process - thus, still to fix up the «Famous for» and the color to match the other for a era of the 60s and post.

Your comment is always a pleasure to read.

PS. went to Pete Willard's web site an the only CNW items are a few logos and no link to contact that gentleman,

Nearly every PDF on that site contains my email. posting EMAILS in forums is a spam source.

I know... but it did need an update... so thanks... I get a lot of random spam and I'm trying to make sure we are not making it easier for anyone.
